Hi ECF, I'm so confused about how to fill the carto tank, I've been watching them in youtube, some says slide tank up from the carto thread side and fill them, some says push the thread side of carto down into the tank and fill them. what way is better to not damage o-ring of the tank? Suggestion?

This was a very accurate video, but I have two comments:

1) He didn't show you how to prime the carto first. Just sliding the carto in and then filling the tank doesn't work. You must first prime the carto by dripping 20-30 drops of juice into the pollyfill, going North East South West, while turning the carto. I suggest doing this at an angle. Once the carto is fully primed with juice, THEN you slide it into the tank and fill the tank using the method in this Youtube video.

2) You don't have to use your fingers to plug the air holes when doing the "dry hits". You can simply screw the tank into your PV and take dry hits that way. It's no big deal, either way works, but I prefer mine better. ;-)

EDIT: Dry hits, in my opinion, are not enough to "prime" the carto if you don't drip those 20-30 drops first. I use it (the dry hit method), but only to further soak the already pre-primed carto.

TIP: Never pop off the top cap, squeeze in juice, then pop the top cap back on. It'll definitely flood your carto and get you very, very messy.

Are you using pre punched cartos or punching them yourself? I've never got it to work, tried everything. Have two tanks and a carto ready to fill but seems double coils just don't work.

Thanks for the tips Rocketpunk. The filling carto before put it in tank, I saw some video in youtube use the condom method and I think that could be a good way to do.

Actually, Sickboy, it might not. A lot of those pre-punched cartos (actually they use lasers and not a physical machine tool, unless you use a tool to puncture it yourself) have flanged bottoms. What that means is, they're not smooth cylinders. They have little (this is hard to describe) flat disc shaped bottoms to better keep the tank from sliding down the carto, I can link to a picture with the flanges I'm talking about.

This is a normal carto with UN-flanged bottoms, and these can be filled using the condom method: Boge 3.0© Stainless Cartomizers at SmokTek.com - $5.99! (the brand type doesn't make a difference, most, if not all, normal cartos, whether Boge, Smoktech, etc., will come looking like this.) These cannot be used in carto tanks because they are not pre-punched and do not have the flanged bottom. Some may say Yes, you can use them, just punch them yourself and don't jack with the tank to much when handling the PV. But, well, I'd suggest not to do it that way.

These are replacement cartos meant specifically to use with DCT tanks: SmokTech Punched Cartomizer for tanks Do you notice the "flange" at the bottom of this carto? It will not make the condom method work very effectively. Best just to drip the juice into the polyfill while rotating it at an angle.

EDIT: Sickboy... Ever heard of Trainspotting?

I don't have enough confidence to do DIY myself, so I only buy pre-punched cartos. They are not punched with a drill-type machine, they are laser-drilled, which I've been perfectly happy using.

Trainspotting? nope, never heard of it. what is it?

It's a novel written in the early 90's by a Scottish author that was made into a movie back in like '96, '97, maybe even '98. One of the characters in the book is named Sickboy. Thought maybe you'd read the book/watched the movie and took your screenname from it. :)

Just yesterday reading your posts, I decided to give it a try. Previous DC from Smoktech were hard to get to work, but with this new one it worked in a jiffy, not needing to fiddle a lot with it.

I'll keep it as an emergency vape, I prefer the T2 flavor...

If you're using regular cartos without flange, refilling from the back is the way to go. If you're using a DCT tank you should lift the tank enough to drip inside the tank without putting anything inside the carto itself.
