Filling Cartomizers, tasting terrible, no vapor... Is it me or the juice?

For some reason, 2 different flavors taste burnt and nasty and they produce like NO vapor. Both of these are coffee flavors. Some of my other juice is at the same nicotine level and same PG/VG ratio and I'm not having any problem with them at all, they taste great and I'm getting very decent vapor production from them? Is it faulty cartos? Or is it something that has to do with coffee flavored juices? I'm very new to vaping, 10 days in, so any advice is appreciated. Btw, I've tried the condom method, but don't like it and have heard quite a bit that it's not good for your cartos. I've been adding a few drops, letting it sit, adding a few drops, letting it sit, etc... I know they are full because it keeps coming out of the bottom. I've made sure to blow them out and get them completely dried off before connecting them to the battery... And like I said, I have no problems with my other juices.

Edit: They are brand new cartomizers.

Sometimes you get cartomizers that are "burnt out of the box" Happens with even the best manufacturers. If it's tasting burnt now...it's going to keep tasting burnt. You are SOL with them. I've gotten up to 3 in a single box that tasted like they were already burned up. Then the next one I get...the silly thing will last for weeks! So figure. Guess it all averages out one way or another.

When I was using cartos I used the condom method without probs but each to their own. First fill is VERY important. If your cartos are 1 ml then it needs at least 25? drops...20 drops= 1 ml. You could always buy a syringe and fill it that way. Try shaking the cartos (removed from Battery with condom on) as if it were a thermometer to get the juice down to the battery end of the carto. Some darker juices are harder to get to the bottom of carto.

Are you using a VV battery?
Standard / high or low res carto's?

I love me some coffee but never found a coffee flavored ejuice I could stand the taste of.

I was thinking maybe I just didn't like the flavor, but it hits so harsh and there is no vapor on the exhale which is making me think it's not the flavor I don't like.

I know both Boge and SmokTech had serious issues when they supposedly changed the filler in them (Boge denies they changed anything)- burning out in 1-2 days, tasting weird. PBusardo actually made a vid and has emailed Boge. These days it seems to be hit and miss with many diff brands of cartos IMHO.

"Although I haven’t heard anything directly from Boge, I was notified of a post from Boge on their website.
My guess is that I’m not the only one who is bugging them about their cartos!
I continue to use my old brick of Boges cartos with the hope that things will correct themselves when I’m ready to buy again.
I also continue to hear both good and bad on the new Boges cartos."

I'm using an Aqua Vapor RN4081 battery and these cartos: 5 Pre-filled or Blank Cartomizers for Classic RN4081 eCigarette

But like I said, I'm only having this problem with 2 cartos, 2 different flavors. The rest of them are vaping fine off the same battery and same carto brand.

Tried the shaking thing, you're my hero, lol. They are working much better now! Thank you :)

If it's harsh it could be the PG/ VG ratio

Juice Components

Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like- many of us believe it to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

There was a post about 1 week ago and the person had the same harshness- turns out the harsh cartos were 90/ 10 PG/ VG and the okay cartos were 70/ 30 PG/ VG.
I now vape 85/ 15 PG/ VG because at 2 mg nicotine I was getting no TH. Now that I've raised the PG I can feel the TH but like I said many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.

You're welcome but aw shucks. Just so very glad your problem was resolved
You may want to consider, on your next order, getting a syringe- easier to load the bottom of carto up. I don't have any but have used friend's and it is a quicker easier way.

I definitely do not like the TH, but it is about right at 70PG/30VG or 80PG/20VG. A friend let me try some 50/50 and it's pretty hard to get into a carto, she's experienced and she said she even had problems and switched to clearos. The thicker stuff seems to have a hard time absorbing into the filler.

She could try adding a TINY amount of distilled water to the VG heavy juice to thin it out. As for clearos I've tried the Stardusts and prefer the Vision Mini Vivi Nova- if you do buy it make absolute sure it's the Vision brand.

Pretty sure my next order will be an eGo with clearos. These cartos and RN4081 would probably be okay for a light vaper, but I'm looking for less fuss, as I'm a chain-vaper.

 Yea, it didn't take me long to realize that either. Started with regular carts and blew through 6 of them in the first day. Now it's tanks, but my gosh, the learning curve...so worth it tho.
