Filter wetting phenomena

Dear friends,
Today I accidently found out a strange phenomena of my DSE701 cartridge filter:
After a few draws it usually becomes dry and I should wait it a few minutes to wet again. Today I accidently blow a few times inwards instead of outwards,
and......ooooo miracle - the filter got wet again :confused::confused::confused:
I used this a whole day viping perfectly - IT WORKS:thumbs:
Could someone explain this phenomena?
Thanks to all replies in advance

Maybe it's a good idea to announce the phenomena to all forum members who suffer from
dry cartridge filters ?

You mean everyone who isn't using a modded cart? If you're vapin stock gear, chances are you're topping off carts like every 5-10 rips and that's very unsatisfying to me. I've tried the PTB mod and it works very well, but gives me a tea-like taste I can't get past. Going to try the BBF mod (big blue filter) this afternoon - have the gear but my water is turned off at the moment so I'll wait until I can wash the filters under hot water.

As for your phenomenon, I'm an engineer and have studied fluid dynamics before. Basically, you start with a full 701 cart, vape like 5 hits and then it tastes and looks dry inside the cart. In reality, the cart still has fluid in it, and if you pulled out the filler material, it'd still be wet on the bottom 2/3s of it. What's happening is you are wicking the fluid out of the top of the filler material and into the atty, but since the stock material doesn't wick as well as other materials, the remaining fluid stays near the bottom of your cartridge. When you blow into the cartridge, instead of inhaling as you would on a drag, you are facilitating the wicking inside the cartridge bringing fluid closer to the top of the cartridge. I'm sure you also end up blowing more fluid on atty as well from this method.

I'd caution against blowing into the atty from the cartridge, I blew out an atty this way when I didn't understand you needed to blow on the threaded end to clean them!! What a noob mistake!!
