Final Analog Question

So I've been down to one cigarette a day for the past 50 days (minus one day). This amazes me as I went from 30+ to one overnight... 1501+ analogs left for someone else. This simply astounds me beyond belief. So I am on my third pack and has seven days remaining. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm thinking I'll smoke the last seven and then stop. So here are my thoughts on possibilities for the remaining seven:

1) continue the status quo and just stop on the seventh day
2) go to one smoke for every two days for the next three packs
3) go to one smoke for every two days for the last seven
4) continue the status quo and stop on the sixth day without finishing the pack.

Any suggestions are welcome. I cannot believe how relatively easy this has been and knowing that I'm improving health wise and money wise is amazing. I've saved about $700 since the start of this year on smoking.

I'm not a good person for this advice, but I think all options are a trap. I'm afraid you will be anticipating the day's cigarette ration, and making some sort of ceremony out of smoking it. Probably best to toss 'em right now.

Note that advice is easier to give than to follow, and you're doing great no matter how you proceed.

Nermal, funny you should mention that. before I posted the original message, I included have some sort of ritual with the last one. Then I thought about it and this is the one that I always dread the most and think "I'll never smoke again" which causes me to panic a little and eventually I cave and buy another pack.

First week I smoked 3 a day because I had no nic in my liquid, my bad. Once I got nic stoped smoking right there and then, the pack with I'm not sure how many are in it, has now been sitting by my comp covered with dust ever since, I'll not remove it or use it.

This was my cold turkey if u will. No goals just quit.

After several attempts at cold turkey or patch...it is truly amazing how easy it was to make the switch to vaping.

I saved my last few for possible emergency cravings...When I got to them, turns out they're gross.
But whatever works for you, seems you might be a bit more of a planner than I will ever be. :)
 
I actually just read a really good suggestion someone made about analogs on another post.
You should just keep the pack with you and when you want one, set the pack out, stare at it, and then vape.
It is much easy to push analogs away when you have them with you. It will prove to yourself that you don't need them... Unless you can't help it then you have them with you so you can remember how awful they taste.

Everyone has their own pace. For me, I was a half a pack a day Camel Lights (or Blue now) smoker and went full ...... on vaping in December when I got my first mechanical mod + RDA. I still however smoked here and there until January 27th when I left a vape shop picking up juice and my battery died, so I lit up a Blue on my way home. It tasted horrible after vaping awesome flavors for a few weeks.

The next day on my way in to work, I reached for my pack but instead grabbed my mod and vaped on my commute. I was pretty busy during the day, so I didn't think of lighting up since dripping 6 mg of nic was enough to keep the cravings at bay. After the second full day of being smoke free, I knew I had transitioned to vaping full time and now second hand smoke bothers me. I was the type that actually loved to smoke so I know it's possible to quit.

5 months vaping here. I smoked a cigarette yesterday because I was sooooo craving it. I smoked it. I was like... meh. ok. That happened, I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. I'm glad I did it because otherwise I'd still be thinking about it and craving it. Maybe I'll have another one in a week or next month or in a few months. No biggie. Think about the hundreds you aren't smoking.

You know what is best for you. I never intended to quit totally as it just happened. I got down to one or two smokes a day and then just had one every now and then when my workers were having a break. Did that for 3 months. I just ended up losing the desire and taste for a smoke. I am six days now with zero smokes but still have a pack in my truck. Smoked strait for 42 years and tried everything to quit. Never thought I would see the day as a non smoker. Tried some different fruit and coffee vapes and hated them as I only liked the Tobacco taste these four or five months. Now tobacco taste seems bland so I am adding in a bit of fruit vape in my tank when I fill it. Everyone is different and their is no one way to do it. It is training the body to do something different. Good luck to you in whatever you choose. CHEERS!

I tried to change my routine after starting to vape. I had dropped to between 1 and 3 cigs a day. Thought I would just do one a day. In another thread somewhere, a fellow vaper mentioned that just having cigs around is temptation. The last day, I had 2.5 left. Thought I would hold out till the halo kit got here, but finished up that night.

Moral for me, and a few others, just keep up what you are doing now. You are so close to quitting, why stress out a more aggravating situation by worrying about routines? After I put that last .... out, that was it. I have several flavors around me, and the cats appreciate the cleaner kitty litter (smell returning has its ups and downs :tumble:)

when do you smoke that 1 ciggie a day?... I do 1 ( more like 1/2 - 1/3) in the morning with coffie ( vaping doesnt cut it) so there is a companion factor occuring with that ciggie.
keep a pack around, and when it comes time to desire the ciggie, try and see if vaping kills the urge, if not, lite it up but take your time smoking it and try for 1/2 a ciggie ( let the nic hit and curve the urge) then go back to the juice....

It really comes down to two things: Are you committed to quitting completely? And, do you still like them?

If you don't really want to quit smoking, you can play games for as long as you want. You just gave yourself four different options for not quitting - that's all. Pick any one if you don't want to quit - they will all be equally effective. If you are down to only one cigarette a day - why bother? Rewarding yourself for not smoking... with smoking? Is that what's going on here?

For a lot of us smoking goes gross in short order. Once that happens it becomes pretty easy to quit. However if you are one of those people who still finds stuff about smoking you enjoy, it is harder for you to stay away from them. If that's the case only you can decide when you have had enough and what the implications of "just one" may mean for you. Just one today. A bad day at work means a half dozen. Life crisis turns into "screw it, I just bought a pack and smoked it in 12 hours."

Honestly if you are down to one a day for the sake of one a day, and don't really need it as a reaction to a craving fit it's time to stop already. Or at least try it.
