Well it was a matter of time before I chain vaped myself right into that "blech I Really should NOT have done that" phase. I finally hit a dry spot, and god do I hate that.

Off that particular topic do normal 306 drip tips fit in the RES?

Yeah they do, at least all the ones I have because they all still have a smaller diameter than a 510 tube.

Yep all the ones that I have seen so far fit in the RES.

Good. I am angry with myself for letting the RES go dry. Now I am just having fits getting it back into that "sweet spot" I had it before. I very much want to try some 306's though.

I HIGHLY recommend using 306's. I never tried one til Friday and OH MY GOD it's like an entire new unit. I put a LR 306 on my UltraLite and it hits harder than my UltraMax at 3.7v with a LR 510. Its unbelievable. Definitely try it. Seriously clouds of vapor.

Haven't tried a 306 yet but hopefully getting one next week.

You know what would be sweet, is for Innovapor to have their own 306 drip tip, ya know similar to the 510 drip tips but for the 306 of course

One thing I have noticed. The RES on the UltraMax is more porous than the UltraLite. The Ultralite seems to handle higher PG mixes (thinner juices) a ton better. Would it be possible to use the material from the UltraLite RES to make a RES for the UltraMax? I do tend to vape ALOT more PG based juice, and would be curious to see if the wicking is a little better on the finer grained material.

This is actually a pretty good idea for down the road, it would allow people to custom taylor the best possible working res to there favorite liquid mix. Obviously it would be time consuming but its definitely a cool idea.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I never thought, nor read anywhere, that the porosity of the ceramic wick varies between the different models.

Is this true?

I never really put much thought into it but do notice that my 70pg/30vg sometimes does not work as well as 100vg on the Ultra.

Good catch. All of the wicks have the same percentage of void space, but not pore size. The Ultralite wick is 4 times less porous than the Ultra and UltraMax wicks. The main reason for the lower porosity in the Ultralite was strength. This grade of material was also an option in the Ultralite because the wall thickness on the wick itself is less than 0.040", so the increased restriction to flow was offset by the shorter distance the fluid had to be displaced. The individual grains in the higher porosity materials like in the Ultra and UltraMax were often equal to this 0.040" wall thickness, which was a no-go for structural reasons.

The ceramic in all of the wicks is one of the main things I am working on right now. I found a new supplier for the material that also has very high production capacity (while still being able to hold the high tolerances). The challenge right now is that the current supplier of the material simply cannot keep up with demand, and is consistently late on shipments. Unacceptably late.

I will definitely explore offering multiple pore sizes for the same model after this new supplier gets our stock back up. Unfortunately I have to re-invent the wheel with this new company, so I can only push them to explore options after they've mastered the basics.

Definitely let me know. I would be willing to buy a few and test them out for you. I use mine primarily with 100% vg so I really don't have issues at all. I put some 70/30 in it last night though, and it seemed alot easier to flood. I am one of those that likes a tight draw so I think the other material would be fine with me.

Just my 2 cents and thanks for the rapid reply. do PM me when you get some other options in.

Thanks for the explanation N8T. I thought my atties were going bad, changing the way I take a puff, etc coz my atties flood when I use pg-based liquids. At least now I know not to chase the perfect atty.

No problem, and will do!
