Thanks to a lot of help from Mr. Outlaw, Scuba Dan and others over on the Modders Forum I got my Mad Scientists VapeJuce Lab up and running today. Buying all the graduated cylinders, gizmos and safety equipment is not as expensive as I thought it would be. My first brew is a 12mg Hazelnut Cappuccino with a hint of Marshmallow and man is it good. I like the SI Desert Joe for my all day vape and ordered some more today along with a few more X2 Clearomizers before they sell out but since I'm a tinkerer I have wanted to take a stab a mixing my own brew too. Scuba Dan has a 160 recipe data base with mixing instructions and Nicotine calculator all built into a single Excel Spread Sheet that makes mixing easy enough even for a guy who can't boil water (like me). :danger: I will say anyone considering doing this should first do the research and thoroughly read the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all the ingredients because Nicotine is a deadly poison even deadlier than cyanide! But with a cautious approach it can be a very rewarding thing to fill your time and X2-Clearomizer with. My whole family thought I was making a pot of coffee when they walked through the family room, man it's nice to be able to indulge inside, no more sitting on the porch freezing my .... off to get my Nicotine fix or in todays case burning up in the heat and humidity...WOOT! :headbang:

I'd love to start making my own juice. However a home beer brewing setup is first on the list. Vapeing is a love of mine, and I do it more often, but beer is my first love. And it helps I make my living off of it.

Never was a drinker but ever since I read the FoxFire Books back in the 70s I've wanted to build a Moonshine Still and make some Peach or Blackberry Brandy, just for fun mind you but all those pesky Federal Regulations kinda get in the way. I figure this was legal and if Big Brother ever decides to tax the industry out of existence I'll be ready. It gives me something to do that is fun and has a purpose that I can relate to.

I tried to brew some beer once. My wife came home and I thought she was going to divorce me on the spot. I recommend not doing it inside. I stuck with guiness stout after that fiasco.

chemlabadv.jpgI can show you this picture but until my Daughter comes home from school I don't have a digital camera. I had a new Nikon Cool Pix but apparently it needed an education because it went off to college with my Daughter last month, she was nice enough to leave me a note that she was taking it. :grr:

Haha, I'm 20 myself... So my dad knows exactly what you're going through :p

That looks like a lot of money spent, man... God, it looks cool, though !

Not too bad as things go, it's a kit from a supplier that sells to mostly schools and with shipping it was $119.00. Great part is it comes with all of the Safety Equipment, Elbow length gloves, Respirator and a rubber apron. It's got way more stuff for less money that one of the Vape Suppliers offers for DIY and it's all Laboratory Grade Pyrex instead of plastic.

FYI the respirator doesn't protect agains't high nicotine content solutions (example more than 100mg/ml) if you work with these.
Doesn't work on even lower concentrations anyway.
You need a proper respirator (costs at least 120$), mine is a wilson one full face with double filters and i can use it with heavy metals, radiation, biological hazards etc depending on the filters.

But if you use bases lower than 100mg/ml you won't even need a mask, just good ventilated area.

Heavy Metals, radiation, and Biohazards??? I don't even want to ask what you are up to but I'm guessing the FBI is monitoring your internet usage. Me, I'm just mixing juice with 50% that I'm cutting in half or more and I don't even wear the respirator. I can run down to the Fire House and barrow a Scott air pack (Closed Circuit Positive Pressure) if it gets that bad but most folks have told me that 50 and below handled with care should be fine. I work in my garage with the 12 x 8 ft door open.

Well.... Not radiation, i ment to say radioactive particles..
For 50mg/ml you won't even need a respirator. Maybe glasses in case you spill something on your eyes.
And no the fbi won't even bother. :)

I don't expect any problems with the Feds, I worked in with high tech Military Ordnance for 27 years and have had more background checks and Security Clearances than I am allowed to discuss. Making Nicotine juice won't land you on the No Fly list here but doing garage experiments with Biohazards and radioactive particles of any type will surely get their attention even if you just utter the words on a phone call, posting it on a public forum will certainly get a file opened with your name on it in Quantico, at least here in the the USA. They are very touchy about such things and for good reason. I just want to make my juice and disappear in a cloud of nicotine vapor... :vapor:

You're way braver than I am. I refuse to mix. A. I'd waste a bunch of money and not come up with anything that tasted good. B. I'm a klutz. Breaking something would be inevitable.

Don't know about the Brave part, it's really not much to it. If you can follow a recipe and bake a cake you can do this. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and can't cook but mixing ingredients according to a tried and tested recipe is something even I can pull off. You just have to wear the elbow length rubber gloves and apron in case you spill any Nicotine but the rest of the stuff (PG,VG and distilled water) is relatively harmless. Plus it keeps me off the streets...

They are called .... examination gloves :D No matter what it's better to get nitrile ones.

Actually it's better to not spill it but any glove that is nonporous is fine. Lets remember this is a Hobby not a career move so you go with what works and is cheap! Once again I don't want to know what you do with them in Greece, up to your elbows, seriously? That's just not right!

Now Latex would be kinky especially in hot pink or real glossy black, not that I'm into latex. I'm a black leather kind of guy, like Halle Berry in Cat Woman, MEOW :p
