Lorann has a new line of "Naturals" which they keep adding more flavors to, if you are interested in doing all natural flavor mixes.
I try to use organics or naturals when I can but I'm not a total convert yet. PG doesn't cause me any problems so I can use most any flavorings. I went wild last month and ordered way too many flavors....When am I ever going to use "Catalan Cream" in anything? IDK, probably would be a better idea to take a list of exactly which flavors you need for the recipes you want to try before heading over there....talk about me being a kid in a candy factory....

They do have a flavor list you can print - I just circled about $35 worth of stuff :D

I went to the Lorann factory this morning, which ended up being about three miles from my house, not six. I'd emailed them and asked if they did retail through the factory, which they do.

They have a couple of small displays of mostly 1 dram bottles and you pay the receptionist - anything that's not out front they pull from the back - they'll give you a catalog if you need one, but the catalog is also available in pdf from their website.

They also sell nice glass droppers to fit their bottles so I bought a few of those. I took my list of Lorann Flavors That Do Not Suck (thanks again, emus), bought the stuff, drove home and put on my mad scientist hat. Here's what happened - these are just n00b observations, though. I mixed up a batch of 0mg 80/20 and drew some of it off into 5ml bottles for testing -

Blueberry cheesecake: Worked fine. Ended up using 13% cheesecake and 13% natural blueberry (the natural flavors are half the strength of the concentrated flavors).

Cinnamon roll: Nah. Might be good as a bread or waffle flavoring but not great vaped alone. Pitched the batch but may try again mixed with a fruit or maple flavor.

Creme de menthe: Now this was nice - and really easy. 10% creme de menthe flavoring.

Coffee with bavarian cream: This one I was proudest of - 12% Keoke coffee, 9% bavarian cream. Really nice, rich flavor.

Okay, so I can do this. Again, these are just n00b observations but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Your welcome.
Love the glass droppers.
Love Bavian Cream but I poured the Keoke Coffee down drain.
Does Keoke coffee smell good to you?

Not really, but I think it mixed well - when I read the DIY flavor thread it was the highest rated of the Lorann's coffee flavors. Still learning :)

That bavarian cream is really neat, though. I've got some natural caramel cream I may play with a little too.

Some flavors foul attys pretty quick; I've had more luck vaping dirty burners in DC.
I test flavors in CE2; vape dirty burners in DC.

Some Loranns I like: Apple, Bav Creame, Black Walnut (funny since I don't like black walnuts, taste same as PA RY4), Clove oil, coconut, peppermint oil, sassafras, spearmint oil.

I've been dripping to get close then testing in CE2 - I've got a couple boxes of CE2 the wife didn't care for and I don't use them, but they are nice for testing.

How do you cut the oil-based flavors? I can't get PGA in this state, best I can do is high-octane vodka.

The oils tend to be very strong.
Mix 1ml vodka w/ a few drops of oil.
Above should now dissolve in few ml PG.

Wintergreen made my bad list.

I like to drip on CE2; can trim wick.

Did my first straight VG sample this afternoon and vapor production was significant even at 3.8v/2.5Ω - with a LR atty this stuff would really fog up a room.

I have learned that I really like testing at 0mg.

Yeah but nicotine does have a slight flavor to it. So you'd have to account for that somehow. I don't do samples sizes. I use 15ml bottles and follow standard recipes and then tweak the liquid to my preferences after I taste it. Just too lazy to go through all the testing I guess. And to speed things up even more I "quick steep" the juice by putting the bottle into a container of almost boiling water and let it sit there until it all reaches room temp. That "mends" the flavors together and I don't have to wait the steeping time. As far as I can tell it doesn't hurt anything since it's only in the hot water for a short time. I'm sure that will get a "no no" from lots of people but it works well for me.

You know I'm sure that you can thin the VG with a little DW so it's not too thick for the cartos. I'm trying to steer away from PG use also, but I'm having to add a lot more flavor to the VG mixes than I care to....lol.

I haven't used anybody's recipes but my own simple ones yet - having a newly reacquired sense of taste I'm having fun exploring my own imagination so far :)

Part of the reason I like 0mg 5ml sample batches? I'm thinking about doing a PB&J which will most likely be horrendous - but I'm curious. I'll probably end up pitching the sample and will be out maybe three bucks for flavoring but I've spent way more money on way dumber stuff :D

As far as the nic's flavor, I like doing two samples - one without nic and if it's vapeable, one with nic. With 5ml batches it's easy to keep my percentages fairly straight.

But - I've been doing this for less than a week so I've still got a lot to learn :)

Yup. I live in Michigan and can't get PGA locally so DW worked just fine. I have a CPAP machine here so I didn't even have to run out for DW :D

That's good, I have a three stage for my Discus breeder tank, I just use that water when I need something really pure. Before it gets into the tank....PB&J? That's gonna be fun.

You must do a thread on the PB&J experiment!

PB is another one of those tricky flavors that seems so darn simple.

That's what I'm thinking too :)

Being a traditionalist I'd really like to do the PB&J with grape but don't think I have the experience to pull it off yet, so I think I'm gonna try it with strawberry and use this big bottle of cinnamon roll that only seems suitable for bread flavorings so far - at least to start. If the strawberry isn't awful then maybe I'll try it with grape.
