Just want to say thank you to all contributors to this wonderful forum! I am still very new to the world of DIYing but I think I have finally turned the corner on making what I consider to be top shelf juice. Seems finding the right ratio and percentages of flavors to use is the biggest hurdle and what goes with what. Limiting the use of sweeteners and using a little saline is great advise.
I ran across this old thread from 2011 and it really helped get me thinking about paring flavors. Thought maybe it may help other new DIYers. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/236869-flavor-pairing-list.html
My last concoction of chocolate, hazelnut is the bomb!
Thanks again all!

What a great feeling isn't it! I just started out myself so I wouldn't say I'm quite "there" yet but my juice isn't too bad I must say. Some is better than what I've bought! Lol. I'm so glad I took the plunge into DIY. I was hesitant at first and kinda scared but now I'm so glad I did it!
I know exactly how you feel! I'm still in that stage where I kinda feel I don't really know what I'm doing, lol. My problem initially was that I was using e.m and sweeteners on everything and wondering why my mixes were kinda flat. Now I have to learn when and when not to use them.
wer2cool posts really helped me understand that.

It's not really when to use it as how much of it to use. I generally don't go above .5%

I know now exactly what you mean. Just started making my own also. Had some "successes" and some "not so successful attempts" but trying to learn from each endeavor!

Congratulations Xcighippy! It's a great feeling when you make something you truly like and are proud of! :toast:

Cheers,
Steve
Thanks buddy. Coming from a wings fan that means a lot to me as I am an x Michiganer my self.
I hit a home run with a batch today. But I also made one that is complete crap also. Guess I got a little carried away.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Congrats on the success Xcighippy! I have been thinking of starting a similar thread to say thanks to the great folks who have laid the foundation of knowledge down in this forum.
Hoosier and Danny's blogs were the biggest help to me as well  to both of you guys. Hoosiers flavor blog helped me save some of my earlier batches, and fine tune what level of flavor I was seeking on some flavors I had written off.
I jumped into DIY headfirst, and didn't look back, now I am preferring my homemade stuff and actually just last night dumped a bunch of my older store bought juices that just didn't do it for me, to make room for My juices. DIY'ing has been the most rewarding and liberating decision to date in my vape journey, and I owe it all to ECF and the great folks who have written down their hard earned knowledge. Thanks to each and all of you!

Yes. Like you I felt the need to say thanks to the "masters" on here who take the time to help us new people. All have great advise and are very helpful. And there are a few who stand out. When they talk, I listen!
I also jumped in head first and yesterday I dumped a bunch of my store bought stuff just to get bottles to use. I don't really think my stuff is all THAT great yet. But it tastes so much better knowing you made it yourself.

If your dumping out vender juices just to scavenge for bottles then you my friend have arrived.... Congratulations.

I have vender juices sitting on the shelf that I haven't touched in over a year and may do the same thing myself:) In fact I just gave away about 20 bottles of vender juice.

I know what you mean. I haven't bought any B&M juice since January 25th. I still have about 5 ml left in one of them.

I have used information from quite a few people on here to get mine where they are now.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to post about your experiences because it has been extremely helpful!

Haha exactly. I dumped about a dozen bottles a few months ago. Some vendor juice smelled so bad to me I couldn't give it Away.

vaping one day at a time
