I need someone to talk me OUT of feeling like I should buy everything I've ever wanted. Why do I NOT need a brass mod with steel ends? Whats the point of owning 1 of every type of mod I've ever wanted? I can vape just fine without that mod. I think I need help :p I need vaper's anonymous. I haven't seen an official thread for people that feel like they NEED a set list of mods.

I really wish I could just be happy with what I've got, considering what I've got is so much more than most vapers.

Definitely coming near the "Satisfied with my gear" point. My short-term goal has been to have 3 Nemesis (Nemesi?), one each SS, Brass, and Copper, and a Kayfun for each. I've got the SS, brass and copper on the way, and already have 3 Kayfun clones (3.1es, FT KFL, and KFL Black Edition), with another KFL on the way for a backup.

Interesting thread!

I cant answer- what i "want" changes almost weekly :) I would say though that i do want a blowtorch. Not just for coil building.. but because blowtorches are cool. :p

I do want a DNA20 mod though. Ive dumped so much cash lately on other gear though, i gotta take a break and just enjoy vaping for a bit!

What the HELL is so great about these Kayfuns? Everywhere I look some1 is talking about kayfuns. Everyone needs a kayfun. Kayfun this and kayfun that. Don't you need non-resistance wire to rebuild a Kayfun? If thats true, how did they become so popular? That seems like a really annoying step to add to the already intimidating rebuilding process. What the hell is so great about Kayfuns?
My Russian 91% should be here Tuesday. For me I like the airy draw of genni's so much it's to the point that I can't stand cartos or protanks. Hell I've even drilled out my Z-attys to make them more airy. I run micro coils and cotton in them as well as my nimbus dripper and am pretty happy. The only drawback is I'm tired of having to constantly worry about keeping them upright. My genni set ups are pretty troublefree as the micro coils are pretty solid and I just have to change out the cotton wicks every other tank or so. I'm really hoping the Russian will suit my tastes.

1. Ego batteries
2. VV3
3. MVP2
4. Used Provari
5. Semovar
6. New Provari
7. Mech mods, nemi, origin, M16, magneto, Chi You SS, Dookz. All clones except for the Chi You, Dookz and magneto ( inspired by something though?)
8. AGA-T2x3, IGO-Wx3, IGO=W4x2, IGO-S, IGO-L, IGO-F, Aqua clone, Kracken clone, Kracken, KF 3.1, KFL+ clone, Russian 91%x2, Taifun GT
9. Protank2s, Protank3s, Mini PT2s, Evods, 2 Hypertanks and one G50 (same thing as a Hypertank)
10. Fuses, Kick, Kick2 and a kick clone.
11. Batteries and then some.

On the way in the mail.
Aero tank bases, Protank 2 replacement tank bottom pieces to turn my PT3s into PT2s, Chi-Triot, another liter of 100mg/ml nic base to add to my 1.5 liters in the freezer.
And maybe, just maybe a Kato Hammer tomorrow. Because my real Kracken would look so good on it and my Chi You tubes will fit it.

I do not know if I am done yet, this year just started.

Drop by any Harbor Freight in Austin, they have the refilable orange mini torches for 8 bux. They are hard to kill and work great :)

Nice! Thanks Fear, I need to get a torch as well. I have a cutting torch in my garage, it's my brothers. It has two gigantic green tanks that are almost taller than me. I think the tanks are empty or close to it, but I'm sure if I wanted to use the torch I could. I just have absolutely no idea how to use it.

I need someone to talk me OUT of feeling like I should buy everything I've ever wanted. [...]

[...]I really wish I could just be happy with what I've got, considering what I've got is so much more than most vapers.

This was sort of difficult for me too. I can describe what changed *my* mind and how it went for me, but I'd be surprised if any of my pattern applies to you.

I used to try everything just to find out for myself even when what I already had was working just fine.... and then I stopped doing that. My VVW was the last mod purchase I made and for whatever reason, I just lost interest in keeping up with every single device that came along.

I think part of what got me started buying all sorts of things was the simple fact that I discovered a lot of people on all of the vaping forums plus youtube were less than truthful with their assessments of different devices. I like accurate information, and I felt like I couldn't really get it. It happened a couple of different ways - 1) I had a device for a few months that got a lot of "bad press" as it were. My experience with it was completely satisfactory. So, I went on a quest to discover why so many others had trouble with it... and that led to buying a lot of stuff related to that device and trying to reproduce problems others had. And 2) I bought a couple of devices that got all sorts of praise on the forums and a couple of youtubers and they turned out to be junk.... which led me to thinking maybe I got lemons so I bought more... just to discover they really were junk. I found that frustrating.

Then, back in late 2011, cartomizers of all sorts were really hot items and discussed ad-nauseam on the forums and debates raged as to which were good and which were not. So, I spent a paycheck on nothing but all of the different cartos that were available at the time (except I never tested Ikens - Iken was out of stock when I did my experiment) and tried every single one of them for myself.

After that, it just sort of snowballed. I didn't trust anyone's claims about any device or any juice or any battery or any carto or any tank or any atty or any anything until I tried it for myself. And, I have to say it: I still get irked by some of the hype about this or that I see posted in the forums or video reviewed by people I know have been less than truthful in the past...

Then... one day I just sort of quit caring and probably realized that it's completely possible to just plain be wrong about a device. My VVPV had something to do with it. I had a perfect one and I promoted it as an excellent device at any given opportunity. Then it broke... and then I ended up with one that had every single problem others complained about and I realized they weren't nuts. It really was a relatively expensive, buggy, unreliable, leaking pile of junk and my previous posts praising it had probably convinced dozens of people to buy it. --- By the time I knew that, I already had my VVW (which has been perfect, by the way... not that anyone should believe me after how wrong I got it on the VVPV) and I just stopped buying stuff.

So. That's the anatomy of the rise and fall of my vaping collection and reasons behind it. Maybe some of it might apply to talking you in to being satisfied with what you have... but probably none of it applies to you or your reasoning.

Vaping gear really is fun.... but then, anything that gets the job done is probably worth being satisfied with (?)

150-ish days in, I think that I've stabilized. Mechs and mods combined I have about ten or twelve different "battery holders", two carto tanks, about a dozen "non-RBA" tanks, and ten or so different rebuildables.

Now, unless I see something that I'd like to try tinkering with (just bought an Igo W-3, and will probably order a W-2) I think I'm just going to focus more on building different coils and playing with wire gauges and wick material.

I wish I didn't have to feel like I need all this new stuff, but I honestly feel like I neeed all the mods on my list!

Its like, the story of my perfect skateboard. I always wanted a skateboard with everything I had ever wanted for trucks, riser pads, speed daemon wheels, the deck i always wanted, lucky bearings... I got SO close to having it. My mom got me everything but the bearings for christmas one year. & I was the happiest kid alive. I brought my new board to the skatepark and I showed it off to everyone. I was so proud of it. & then a friend offered me a ride home, so i took it. Once I got home I realized I didn't bring my skateboard! I left it hanging off the back railing of the half pipe!!!! So my mom brought me back across town to get it and it was gone. Someone stole it. My perfect skateboard, stolen. I never got another skateboard again. How could I ever trust the world again? I can't. The world WILL take your perfect skateboard.
