LOL so on about the 4th attempt and about a week or so later after first trying I finally succeeded! This is the video I watched for anyone interested. Riptrippers is awesome! Dude knows his rebuilds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIoH-mOXKsc
I didnt have 28 gauge kanthal, so i used 26 gauge... I did 10 wraps around a 16 gauge blunt tip needle(riptrippers uses a 20 gauge needle)
Used some Labo cotton for wicking, and I tried to keep my pieces of cotton as close in size to what was shown in the video. Im not sure if how riptrippers does his wicks would be considered wicking his loose or tight? Little confused about wicking was told if i keep it loose I can increase wattage?... Im not getting monster clouds ATM but I only turned box up to 15 watts. The taste is better than silica, very strong though(in a good way)
My finished rebuilt coil ended up being 0.9 ohm, and since riptrippers turned out to be 1.1 ohm I decided to not go over 15 watts instead of 16 watts as riptrippers does. (but how many watts you think I could push?) Im using thicker wire and good quality labo japanese organic cotton, so just curious what the ceiling is here.
Thank you
