Started tonight. .25 dual coil. Yes, I know about battery safety. Now I know. The flavor, the flavor, the flavor. It is almost like you are drinking the juice. Not for my everyday use but for fun at home when I want a flavor shot.

Be carefully about battery..blah blah blah... :) I'm sure you know, and will probably be reminded like crazy. :) I'll assume you know the precautions. :)

I am barely into sub ohming.... I do two 1.6 ohm coils for a .8 ohm setup. That's a light sub ohm in my opinion, but it's in my "heavy hitting" mech mod.. not my ADV as well. it's nice to be able t get that flavor shot when you need it. I might go lower for dripping, but probably never in my tank. (I use an Aqua on a Caravella... both clones)

I am using a drilled out IGO-W on a Private clone. Yeah, I know the battery lectures would come but I have read and spoke and I know OHMs law. Went to school for it. This set up is silly. Went to a vape meet, hit a guy's setup and was like, must have. Bought everything I needed at the store and he helped me build it and drill it out.

wowsers dude......i can't taste anything that low ohms. but that's me. i start getting the flavor really well at .65 - .8. save you a whole lotta juice and some battery time as well. JMO.. man that's gotta be some THICK vapor.

I DIY juice and I charge my batteries so, no harm there. It is pushing 88 watts on a fresh battery. Not bragging, just amazed and intrigued. Pretty thick, like drinking juice. Only thing is, I was using 8mg juice and that hurts. lol

It's not that scary at subohm, Main thing is you have the right battery to handle the amp load your pulling. a .20 at 4.2 volts is pulling something like 21 amps or so, with a sony vtc3,4,5 you have enough room to be ok. I sub ohm most of the time a, right now Im using a .45 dual coil I call the Oval and it's perfectly fine with my sony. as long as your not reaching the amp limit you will do just fine

Might want to check your threadings and clean your mod religiously. sometimes they still have gunk from the factory which causes the mods to heat up like the button or the tubes etc. Otherwise it's just because your subohming at .25 dual coil ha, the coils are heating up the atomizer which is pushing some heat to the drip tip. it happens when you sub ohm hard. the mod itself should not be getting hot tho however.

I have a mechanical. To me I am more concerned about going over the rated amperage of my battery. Also got to be careful because the coils will sag and can touch the deck causing a short. Really a circuit is a short if you think about it. What happens, you take the resistance out of the circuit and the amps go beyond the battery capacity causing it to fail. Mine is rated at 24 amps so the 21 I am pushing it so I only do a few hits then take a break or switch the battery. IF you are using an regulated mod or one with a wired switch then it depend on the circuitry. Why do you ask? Are you looking at mods or are you asking about your mod?

I think anybody who's subohming 0.25 ohms should ask themselves what ohms would constitute a short.
How would one define a short ? That would be the question.
One way would be: A short is when the load is less than the internal resistance of the battery.
One could also argue that a respectable load should be at least 10 times the internal resistance of the battery; that way you power loss from the internal resistance of the battery is only 10%

I mean at what point do you stop thinking that you are "subohming" and instead say you're "shorting" out the battery?

Maybe you can short out the battery quite safely, but what bothers me is when somebody thinks they're not shorting out the battery because they think it's something called 'subohming'

It bothers me we drive on parkways and park on driveways. I know that if you go under 1 ohm, in the vape culture, it is referred to as sub ohming. We could think of another name for when you go below 10 * battery resistance. But I do agree with calling it shorting when the load is less than the internal resistance of the battery or when voltage is not being dropped. Another thing that has to be factored into the circuit is the internal resistance of the mechanical mod you are using that would put resistance in series with your parallel coils thus raising the resistance and putting it over your recommended 10 * battery resistance.

I see that your interests include philosophy so I am not taking offense to your question but it does bring up a valid point. I do not intend to go below .25. I am just obsessed when it comes to hobbies so I like to explore as much as I can before I move on to the next one.

Very good point you have brought up. Any else care to weigh in? :vapor:
