I finally think I can say that I'm not a smoker. I haven't had an analog in 3 weeks today.

My journey with PV's has been full of trying things, and failing, up to now. I got my first taste of electronic cigarettes in October, 2010. After seeing an advertisement online for Greensmoke or something like that, I decided to do some research on e-cigs. That research led me here, where I became overwhelmed with all the options and different styles available. I was set on getting some variation of a kr808-d, but changed my mind at the last minute and ended up ordering an eGo starter kit, mostly for the longer battery life over analog looking e-cigs. I also decided to jump straight into DIY juice and ordered some nic juice, multiple flavors, VG, PG, etc. I was astounded by how great it was to not be smoking analogs, however that didn't last long. I started encountering issues like leaking and such, usually when I was out of the house and it became easier to buy a pack of analogs than mess with my PV. Shortly thereafter, I tried it again. This time, I kept my eGo batts and bought a couple mega atomizers and some mega carts, also settled on the blue foam filler method. I enjoyed this setup much more than the previous standard atties and carts, also had less leakage. I don't know what happened this time around, but before too long, I was back on the analogs full time.

Then I thought I had it all figured out in March, 2011. The eGo-T was still pretty new and looked promising to me, so I purchased some new 1000 mah eGo-T batts, some eGo-T atties, and some tank carts. Upon trying this, I thought that would be it. I really enjoyed this setup; it kept me from refilling a lot, made less mess for me, tasted great. Then all of a sudden, I was having issues again. my juices weren't wicking nearly as quick as they once did, and the taste just wasn't there for me anymore. Back to the analogs I went.

In early September 2012, after growing tired of waking up with chest pain and tired of spending ~$4 a day on analogs, I decided to give it a go once more. I started doing more research on what people were using now, and decided that I would try a DCT type system. My local flea market has a little e-cig shop inside so I figured I'd go there to avoid waiting for shipping, then order some backup things online. Went to the flea market and ended up not with a DCT, but with a ViVi Nova. So far, my experience with the ViVi nova has been excellent. No leaking issues whatsoever, and wicking hasn't been an issue unless I'm chain vaping a lot. My last analog was on September 9th at around 7 PM, and it tasted terrible as I had been using the ViVi Nova since around 2 in the afternoon.

Now I'm about to upgrade my eGo-T batts to some eGo-C Twist batts, as the whole VV thing seems interesting to me. That may increase my satisfaction even more.

Looking back at my previous failed attempts, I think part of the reason is that my taste buds are not very kind to me. No juice that I've ever tried tasted right, and most juices tasted almost the same to me. The one juice that I would use almost exclusively was cinnamon, simply because I could taste it. That probably helped me fail, since the juice would start ruining my supplies after a while. And while I still can't taste all my juices, I am able to taste a little, and without analogs at all, hopefully I'll taste everything eventually.

Thank you to everyone at ECF for giving me lots of knowledge along my way to becoming analog free!

Congratulations! If you still want to experiment, play with premixed juices. The farther you get from the analogs, the more your tastebuds should heal. (You should even have a brief period where they send messages from the Twilight Zone!) If you can behave and stay with 5 ml bottles, you'll get a bigger and better variety, even if you still vape mostly DIY! Have fun, dammit!

Congrats on finally getting smoke free. Myself, I quit completely on Sept. 5th. The Vivi Nova was what got me smoke free too. A couple years ago I tried with the original eGO, but it was inconsistent and barely any vapor. Switched back cigs until August. Got an eGo-t and it was sort of working. Then I got my Vivi and a Twist. A week later I was completely smoke free.

Congratulations and welcome back! I started over a year ago, took a 3 month ish hiatus when I was stressed out with family stuff and tired of being tied to the chargers and filling cartos etc. with my KR808Ds.... came back and quickly moved up to the bigger batteries and more reliable delivery systems, and can also now say I'm not a smoker. Actually the last cig I attempted while vaping made me puke.

Congrats on 3 weeks. Look for some sample packs of 3/5/7/10 bottles of various sizes. It is fun to try new juices and being able to taste them. Didn't think I would like them but fruit juices are a nice change from tobacco flavors.

I'm mostly using fruit type juices currently. After giving up the cinnamon for this go round, I experimented and made some juice with fruit flavors and a hint of menthol flavor. The best 2 I've cooked up so far are Banana Menthe and Pineapple Menthe. I like the idea of DIY, and it's fun to make my own liquids. It's also even cheaper than premixed, which is a plus since I vape A LOT.

I think I will try to get some small premixed samples though, just to try some other things. And if nothing else, it may give me more DIY ideas to emulate good flavors that I end up trying.

I thinkyou'lll do good with the ego twists, i bought 2 and a few T2 Kanger clearomizers and quit easy, so did my wife and mom. I would say order some Viv Nova V2.5s cause they hold more liquid and also you can rebuild them, great flavandd vape.. I recently upgraded to a reo and hh-357 atty but with the probs your having id say keep it simple for now, do some research on my advice if need be but trust me its the best, also get the lower ohm coils.. good luck bro

I just went ahead and bit the bullet. I bought me a couple 1000 mah steel twists, another vivi nova, and even a mini vivi nova along with some spare heads for the novas. I even treated myself to a lanyard and a cone so my setup looks more flush.

On a side note, it appears that the "vivi nova" I already have is either a knockoff or a V1 version, as it is a bit different than what I just ordered.

Now to sit by the mailbox for a few days waiting on my vapemail!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on 3 weeks! Sounds like it's been a bit of a hard road. As a newcomer (3 weeks vaping, 2 days analog free), it's these kinds of stories that really make me pay attention, largely because I'm starting to twig on things that could become potential problems down the road. The whole taste thing as an issue is interesting, and it seems to me not a ton of attention is paid to it. I mean, apart from the whole "what juice tastes better?" discussions. For me, it's a bit different-- I'll like what I'm vaping, but I just get really sick of a flavour and half the time I don't feel like changing it out, so of course it's ultimately less satisfying. Of course right now I'm riding that "at least it's better than a cig" thing right now, but I imagine that'll wear off eventually. Anyway, reading your story tonight I got to thinking about how cigarettes are so vile tasting (once we get our taste buds back, anyway) and, although we all have (had) our brand preferences, it's interesting how you never hear how someone just couldn't smoke analogs, anymore, because they taste like crap. Or they just got tired of the flavour. You know? I guess how they've really got hold of us is the the convenience of having a hassle free quick hit, no matter the taste or whatever. And of course this thought led to how EVIL tobacco companies are, to produce something that not only overrides our common sense, but apparently a few other things, too. I don't know about you, but 2 days is $12 I didn't give to those .......s and that feels like a damn good start.

Next step: 3 weeks plus 1 day! Wishing you the best. Lots of us are right there with ya.

You may find the vivi Novas are too heavy with the thread cones when using the lanyard, its top heavy and flips upside down. Get yourself a Large Ego Case, there perfect in your back pocket. Idk with the 1000mah if they'll fit, u may have to twist the vivi off, my 650mah twists and Novas fit perfectly, so doubt yours will unless like I said you take the tank off which is no biggie. I like this setup cause I only need one tank all day, I just pack 2 batts, one Vivi nova V3, a spare T2 kanger filled with spare juice and I'm good for the day. Mind you I've been leaving the case in my locker at work and just tossing it in my pocket since the lanyard won't work. Just to warn ya so your not discouraged lol
