Hey folks, I wanted to share this, as it's been extremely frustrating for me for several months.

I've tried just about every tank you can put onto a 510 twist battery, and most of them have various shortcomings, but the Nova was always a no-brainer because of the metal tank and the fact that I mostly vape the usual tank-crackers like clove, cinnamon, menthol, etc..

So with the Vivi Novas, I've been frustrated that every time I refilled, I would often get gurgling, drips in my mouth (flavor explosion! ugh!), and then have to blow it out, sometimes several times, losing juice, and even them sometimes, after blowing it out several times, I would completely empty it and clean it, burn the coils, etc.. just to get it back to normal.. And searching the forums and googling it seemed to only provide endless posts with other people in the same boat, and cleaning it or blowing it out was often the only solution.

Well, through trial and tribulation, I found the sure-fire method to end the gurgling...

When you open the lid to refill, first, take a Q-tip and stick it in the tip of the atomizer, you will see that a couple of drops worth of juice pools there over time. Use both side of the Q-tip and do again until the Q-tip's come off clean. Then do the same for the drip tip/lid. Get in from both sides and get it dry. Refill your liquid, screw on top, and bam.. nice clean hits, no gurgle, ever again.

Win! :2cool:

One thing to watch for with vivi novas is to make sure after screwing the top cap back on to pull off the drip tip and make sure the rubber cap is not showing a gap on one side that would allow juice into the tip..seems that the rubber caps end up being different sizes and become a real pain..

Been fighting that forever. Tired of keeping Q-tips with me all the time. I think I have a solution for Vivi nova people.

I have switched to the Kanger Protank 2 and have been vaping it pretty heavy for about two weeks. I have never....Let me restate that......NEVER, had to use a Q-tip to clean it like the nova. It is also easier to change the coil, because it's a bottom coil you can change it without emptying it out saving fluid. The coils, at least for the moment are cheaper as well. (less than $20 bucks from discount vapors for the tank, two coils and ego thread cone.

Not very helpful really. Personally I don't like the protank, it's not for everyone. Just read around on the forums and you will see that a lot of people have issues with them too. Every clearo has it's pros and cons, if you learn to fix them when they don't perform as you expect, it stands you in good stead for fixing any clearo and not just going out and buying a different brand or type.

As for the gurgling vivis, good tip OP.

Thanks all-
I did try the protank.. ultimately I cracked it with clove flavored juice... lol. I more or less didn't like it anyways. It did give wonderful flavor, better than most clearos, but so does the Vivi, especially considering that it's not a bottom feeder.

But all that being said, the Kanger dribbled and leaked (before the clove) all over the place, I actually discussed it in the general forums a few months ago- it was the worst leaker I had used to date (and it still holds that title). It seems to me that they all leak or dribble to some degree.. the drip tips always trap juice over time (condensated?).. but the Vivi is the first time I was able to overcome it easily enough.

And I don't always carry q-tips (although it would be easy to pack a baggie of them in my carry container with extra battery, ejuice, etc..).. so I use use a napkin and twist it into a tip and clean that nozzle tip inside the tank and blow out the drip tip, which seems to work equally as well as a Q-tip.

Happy vaping all.

I didn't know a protank would crack with clove juice...

Actually, I didn't know a protank would crack with any juice unless it was dropped or otherwise abused physically.

Good to know. Help? Anyone?

unless I'm wrong (correct if I am) the protank is still plastic so it will crack just like any other tank. They make tubes out of pyrex and glass for it.

Research overload. I certainly could be wrong.

OK, I'm correcting ya! LOL Protanks are pyrex. Pyrex is a type of glass manufactured to be more resiliant than ordinary glass, also heat resistant. Been making oven casseroles in a 9x13-inch pyrex pan for decades now.

Protanks, Puritanks, and Davide tanks are made of pyrex and should be able to withstand any kind of ejuice. Maybe the one in question here had a manufacturing flaw or something.

Must have been something else I read about. Thanks for the correction.

the glass in a protank is not pyrex....it may indeed be some type of heat resistant glass but it's not pyrex as pyrex is a brand name....theres a thread here by a tank maker here in the U.S. which describes the glass used in China which is substantially inferior to pyrex...for one pyrex rarely if ever breaks and there are many reports here of protanks breaking
