Dear God do they wear off. I had a gun metal Zmax for about a month and a half, it was half chrome, half gun metal, half copper. The gimping on my Benchmade knives wore it off super hard, scratched the crap out of it, made it just look awful. The Sigelei's do scratch like hell, so if you're not worried about that, it's not an issue.

The Zmax is a plated finish on a copper tube. Not a bad metal to have (dude ran one over with his car, three months later, it still works), but they wear off. Even the stainless, they wear off. The Sigelei's are CNC'd out of a block of stainless steel - much stronger, a little fatter, a little taller. Much sturdier. But they do scratch. A lot. I currently have a Sigelei in stainless, I love it.

Perfect reason to add a jwrap to keep that finish nice.

I see the non polished chrome sigelei stainless available now, in the link I provided, along with the polished chrome stainless. I think the non polished chrome stainless sigelei would hold up better than any of the others.

I have the polished chrome sigelei and it isn't visibly scratched at yet but it does attract fingerprints, I would have ordered the plain stainless but it wasn't available at the time.

Yeah, we had gotten in five of them for the employees to all test out. I ended up scratching mine like an idiot in one night (as you can see, I'm rough on things) so we kept it and I bought it. A co-worker of mine actually has hers wrapped in a vynal (spelling?) wrap and protects her Zmax well. I've got a leather sleeve that goes around the bottom of my sigelei and it keeps it "safe" where I grip it at.

The ones you listed, Fury, do look like they'd hold up for a while longer than the plain stainless steel. I mean, it's simply an aesthetics thing. It's not too much of a bother to people who don't mind it. Hasn't affected the performance in the least and you can only see them if you really look at it. So it could be worse :)
