Right, I have now been puffing on my e-cigarette from e-cig.com for about 2 weeks. Here are my observations:

  • Although I bought 50 or so cartridges, I have only used 5. The reason for this is that I have carried my pot of nicotine solution around with me, and topped up as necessary. In fact, I only change my cartridges because they get teeth-marks over time!
    [/*:m:2c6umrzy]
  • My favorite method of topping up is simply to take the cartridge out of the back end and squeeze 2 drops into the atomizing chamber. I then replace the mouthpiece minus the actual white cartridge. The resulting "smoke" is much thicker and more satisfying than when using the cartridge.
    [/*:m:2c6umrzy]
  • The batteries are surprisingly long-lasting. I say surprisingly because the device does give off quite a lot of heat, so it must require quite a lot of energy. But then again I suppose battery technology is increasing almost as fast as computer technology is so it shouldn't be that surprising!
    [/*:m:2c6umrzy]
  • That said, I will probably purchase another battery. I have 2 already, and they provide me with enough power for, say, an evening in a bar/restaurant. The third would be nice to have when I get back home! [/*:m:2c6umrzy]

In conclusion, if I were to make the purchase again I would order the basic starter pack, 3 pots of nicotine solution and 3 batteries, which I think would come to about the same price as my original order.

I too ordered the penlike ecigarette from e-cig in china. I have done the "dripping" and it works better that the cartridge. But then it stops working and I change the battery and it isn't as strong of a drag. Other words I have to toke real hard and that becomes too much work. I have requested a new atomizer from them. Maybe it will work better. I have also purchased Njoy cigar and I have to work so hard puffing that it isn't enjoyable. I'm going to email them as well . The njoy smoked well for the first few weeks. I'm like you I love the concept and I know there are better ecigs and bad cheap ecigs. How long does your battery last from your penlike cig? and do you clean it? How and how often. I smoke after work and on the weekends. I used to smoke eclipses. I'm determined to find a good ecig tht I don't have to work so hard at.

Yes, I have just started to have the same problem. I wonder if the dripping technique does clog up the atomizer? I haven't got round to cleaning it yet. Does anyone have any suggestions for doing so? I was thinking denatured alcohol would probably be best.

Btw, thanks for signing up Karmin!

I have had min for over a month now and it is getting hard to smoke. I emailed ecig and requested a replacement. You may look into this as well.
This is the reply from ecig:

2. If you want to have it not so urgently, we can send to you by China Post Air parcel, but you need to pay the minimum shipping fee $7.60.

3. If you can order something else, we will ship to you the new order together with the replaced part FREE.

4. We will ship to you by China Post Parcel for FREE.

For the option 1 or 2, please confirm us your credit card number and expired date so that we can proceed the shipping cost directly.

Well that is pretty good service all things considered. Although I can't help but think that they realize their e-cig is lower quality and therefore more likely to fail! Still, you can't argue with free replacements. If cleaning it doesn't work I will certainly do this.

I'm trying a new ecig called the mini V9. I like it best out of all 3 I have tried so far but I have only had it less than a week. I will print up a review on it in a month or two. I want to see if it holds up. All these ecigs smoke great to begin with. The supplier of the V9 understands I have bought poorly manurfactured ecigs in the past and he guarantees I will be very satisfied with this one. Only time will tell. I'm not a seller so my reviews are very honest. I don't want any one to throw $200 away like I did.

I got it off ebay from Peter. I found him on the vaporizing site.

His forum name is liverpool and he gave a great review of the mini cigg and it was cheaper than the Janty Yentl by $100. I liked the option of paying with paypal. I have 2 friends that had a hard time ordering off the ruyon site and paying US currancy.

I have learned a lot from the vaporizing site and have many postings there.
Keep in mind I have had my V9 for a week. Let me smoke it for a few months to see if it holds up. I'm very proud of my self I figured out how to reload the cartridge with another filter from my ecig cores I got from china and my liquid nicotine. It took a little engineering but now I will save money by not having to buy more catridges. Remeber all these ecigs work great for the first week or two. My other friend just purchased the janty penlike model and I want to ask him can I post his review. I helped steer him away from the ecig and the Njoy. Matter of fact Njoy is replacing my atomizer. Now I will have two backups.

My V9 minicig from germany is still smoking great. It took some learning on how to smoke this one with slow drags vs to quick puffs. Peter has been very helpful answering all my questions. I had quite a few questions because after spending $200 usd on inferior products I was skeptical to spend another $125. I have no regrets as of yet. The only thing that bugs me about my V9 is if I try and smoke too fast or too much the V9 will stop working and blink 15 times. That is the v9's way of saving to atomizer so won't burn it out. He has a toe on ebay and will start selling accessories so he can be a one stop shop for all your V9 needs. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is an old reply from Peter:
(german version of Yentl)
Hi Karmin,

I see you like to do your research before buying anything.
I dont blame you actully as i do the same.
There is nothing worse then buying something you really want and find its not as good as you think.
Then another version comes out and you wished you would of waited for the better version/.
I totally understand where you are coming from.
Let me expalin to you, firstly V9 is just the name my factory has given it,reason being is to have people believe that Ruyan has made a version 9 as there current version is V8.
Now it seems another company Loongtotem has also called his e-cig V9.
Now a company called Ruyanseller which has nothing to do with Ruyan is also selling them from loogtotem .
Now the question is whos is the best V9?
Well i can tell you now that the V9 with disposible filters isnt that good from the feedback ive recieved.
You also pointed e-liquided cannot be used which is true.
My e-cig however can be refilled with e-liquid as the filter opens up to insert liquid.
The Janty yetl is most simular to ours as they buy from my manufacturer but used there own cartridges.
