First cleaning of new tank and mod?

Just got a clone kayfun lite, and stingray mod. I've heard people say they should be cleaned before first use, to get machine oils off. Any advice on how to go about it exactly? Can I soak everything everything in soapy water then scrub with toothbrush? Even the build deck on the kayfun?

Yes, your cleaning method will work just fine, including on the build deck Just rinse it real good to get all the soap off, after. Most of the gear I've acquired over the years hasn't needed too much cleaning, so just a thorough rinse with hot water and maybe a Q-tip wipe has been sufficient for me in most cases.
