Help - How to get rid of metallic taste/smell in new device? Kayfun unusable

Man, I really want to get that cleaner. Sounds like it does a great job on things.
I just saw that in the latest Harbor Freight mailing they have a coupon for it - $74.99. Plus, there is the 25% off coupon on the front...out the door for $60.00 is a very nice price. Too bad my vape budget is over spent this month.

Do you like the nautilus as much as you thought you would?

You will see the same US cleaner on Amazon for a lot more but with a different name.

If you go the HF, they also sell a powder for US cleaners that is a degreaser which will take out any of the machine oil taste. Also, try to blow out the air holes as you will definitely find some swarf (metal shavings from machining) in there.

Just rinse very thoroughly. Whenever I do any drastic cleaning, I always remove the O rings and wash them in a glass with dishwasher solution. Even Vodka can swell some O ring material.

Otherwise, I have really been impressed with the FT Kayfun/Russian/Taifun clones. ~$20 allows/each me to play with them.

I was thinking about the Aqua clone, but the small all SS tank with no viewing window was a turn off. I will sometimes rewick with cotton, and I don't like to run that dry.

yeah i use that powdered cleaner that came with my ultrasonic. wasn't aware it was a degreaser too, probably why it does such a good job.

Just as an FYI though, for those that don't have an ultrasonic yet, I found an overnight soak in PGA/everclear to be just as effective for me. The Ultrasonic is just quicker.

Do you like the Nautilus as much as you thought you would?

The Nautilus is nice, on par with my other Aspire BDC devices. Overall flavor is only slightly muted versus the Russian and IGO-L, but not by very much at all. I'm vaping Be Mine in it now using the 2nd smallest air hole (1.1mm).

All screws must be removed and all holes must have water thoroughly ran through them. I don't think a toothbrush will get in there. I thought mine was clean, was vaping, it flooded on me and some ugly stuff came out the air hole with juice. It took me quite some time to get clean.

Soak all the components in the highest % Iso alcohol ( rubbing alcohol ) you can find (usually 91%) then wash with hot water. The alcohol will wash off all the cutting oils your tasting.
