Boge cartos hold about 1ml. I put in 18+ drops into the stuffing to start, while holding a bit of tissue against the thread end hole. Then I clean it up well and let it lay on different sides for 15-20 min to spread the juice to every bit of stuffing so I won't singe it. Thick juices do not work well in cartos, reservoir cartos or tanks. In the stuffed cartos like Boge thick liquid just doesn't move well through the stuffing and you can singe it. I find 80pg/20vg works pretty well for me in Boge cartos. 70pg/30vg works decently but I don't get the same longevity out of the carto nor do I with any juices that leave sediment from the flavoring.

You need standard resistance cartos with slim batteries. LR ones will damage the battery. I love my 510's. I also like to use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on the carto (not to drip into since Boges have a central air channel). I just like the smaller tip and the larger hole for vaping. Only put juices you know you like into cartos. Cleaning a carto is somewhere between difficult and impossible. They are supposed to be disposable. Put a jucie you like in it, add more whenever the vapor lets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting abnormally warm. I can get 1-2 weeks of good performance out a Boge with thin clear juices - I am about to retire one that actually worked decently for 6 weeks. With thicker juices it feels degraded much much sooner for me - I think thicker juices make it harder for air and vapor to flow through the stuffing.

And if you have auto batteries be super super careful to make sure a carto is not going to leak before you put it back on a battery. I recommend buying a spare battery regardless of which type of batteries you have but if you have autos there is a higher chance you will need it.

I wish it didn't take a little bit of fiddling to figure out what works from person to person, but it does. Just remember, finding your sweet spot with vaping is certainly less expensive than chemo treatments for lung cancer. Keep researching, keep trying. This vaping thing really does work.

Ditto! Believe me (us), it's worth the learning curve efforts. I now know when to top off (one drop short of a 'slushie' :p), to blow out the atty, soak/clean or replace the components, etc.

Stay at it and good luck!

I'm pretty new to vaping so take my advice for what its worth, but here is my take.

The atomizer and carts method is by far the simplest and most trouble free, and yields a wonderful taste with a standard joye 510 atty. I "top off" my cart before each usage to a slushy state. That yields an experience almost like dripping, with the bonus that you don't have to stop at 10 puffs.

I clean new atomizers with hot water by using a coke bottle that I have punched a hole in the cap, and gently squeezing a good amount of hot water through the atty. Blow it dry and let set overnight for good measure. Prime with about 3 drops of juice. After that, my attys will last months as I am a light vaper.

Carts, if filled with some funky Chinese juice, need to be cleaned out. Just gently remove the stuffing and run under water, the squeeze dry and let dry overnight. The plastic part of the cart likewise just flush with water.

If you start with a clean cart and a clean atomizer you will have the simplest possible vaping experience with a taste that rivals dripping imo.

The only thing not to like, is that you have to top off the cart often to keep the flavor bursting. But for a noob you can't beat this method and the taste it yields.

I started playing with cartos for this reason. Much more complicated to fill obviously. The first ones I tried joye 510's I consider garbage. They just don't have the same taste to me.

I ordered a set of boge cartos as they seems so popular but I have tamped down my expectations, as so far everything I have tried has tasted weaker to me than a good old joye 510 atty. But I will keep trying new things that come out.

So the bottom line is, sure carts have drawbacks but you can definitely have a fantastic vaping experience with them. Because they are so easy to use you can concentrate on the harder task of finding just that perfect juice combination.

...If you need to clean an atty some rubbing alcohol is easier- dries much faster than water. ...

Still consider myself a noob, but I would definitely NOT use rubbing alcohol. This type of alcohol is not safe for ingestion ,and in some cases has additives to make it poisonous. I wouldn't want to risk vaping any residue left behind. The "safer" alcohol to use for cleaning is pure grain aclohol, usually Everclear. 200 proof.

While your information is correct regarding Isopropyl Alcohol, if an atomizer is cleaned using this method and allowed to dry out overnight, the IA will have evaporated completely and will not harm you. I've accidentally hooked up an atty that still had IA in it and believe me, it tastes like hammered crap. It's not something you'll repeat.

PGA, Everclear, high alcohol vodka also do fine, but some states don't sell these. There are also recovering alcoholics on this forum and buying alcohol to clean atties would not be a good idea. I'm not saying you're wrong, but IA is a viable alternative.

Thanks for the suggestion they have a wide selection!

I was looking at Johnson Creek but I'm not sure what to expect with 100% VG e-juices in terms of clogging things. I'm trying to find a sample pack on that website you provided - I also am wondering what sizes cartomizers hold I'm sure I'll find something listed wherever I buy one.

Boge cartos hold about a ml. I'd order 70pg/30vg so your cartos last more than a couple days. You get a good vapor and nice TH with that combo.

If you want to go for 100 VG, Cignot where you got your ecig sells EcoPure juice. Supposedly the best juice around, but it's expensive. I've never tried it but if you want 100% VG, they have it.

Hang in there. This will work if you want it to. Vaping isn't like smoking. The two are similar in some respects but it's going to require some adjustments to get the hang of it. There's definitely a learning curve to it but once you master what works from what doesn't I think you'll find vaping as satisfying as smoking. I'm new to this myself and like you I did all the wrong things first. I haven't touched tobacco in a month and I can honestly say don't miss it in the least.

Cignot also sells a lot of Boge 100 VG juices. I outta know - I'm only using 100% VG. Good stuff.

I like the vape from the Boge VG liquids but found the EcoPure is just that bit much more thicker than the Boge that I have problems with it. Seems to practically get stuck in your cart filler if you don't thin it down with some distilled water. The EcoPure rich is a nice flavor though.

Can't recommend Cignot enough for newbies. Vicki will answer any and all questions you have about hardware and anything else, any day of the week. (I swear she never sleeps.) She's a great support for newbies with lotso questions.
