First day vaping

just got my Joye Ego today from nicotine nirvana it took less than 24 hours to ship. thats when i realized they were only based ninety miles away.

did some research and wanted to start with a tobacco flavored juice. so i went with nicotine nirvana's American blend. and i have to say im pleasantly surprised.
haven't smoked a full analog all day. just took a few drags off my girlfiriends. thats down from 11 to 12 analogs a day. thats a success in my book. I have been mainly dripping. is there any special cleaning i should be performing on my atty since i am dripping? i read dripping tends to gunk up attys quickly. well 1st day down. hoping to be completely smoke free soon!

shes still kind of unsure. she will come around eventually though shes becoming more interested in all the flavors after i let her try the teramasu (sp?) sampler i received

well im 20 so i would say i have been smoking for about 5 years. but recently i have been stressed so i was increasing my cigarette intake. until i found the ego of course hah

I smoked a Analog this morning then like 1 hr later got my Ego and haven't craved a analog yet!.

Its only been 1 day but thats alot better then my average 15 smokes a day of Marlboro Smooths 100's.

So far so good, except for the annoying throat hit.

And smoking for 5 years or so.

Its such a better thing to do for all the health reasons, after a while when the reality that your not harming yourself with vape and the guilt of smoking is lifted, nirvana sets in.You can vape with pride thats something no one ever did with smokes.Congrats.

To answer your question on cleaning. I wouldn't do it unless absolutely necessary. If you have a flavor you want to get out of the atty i would blow on the threaded end into a paper towel. Some flavors are a bit stubborn but that works well for me. I have killed many atties in my first two months. I was cleaning them once or twice a day. But i had to cause of the performance i was getting. Pretty sure at this point it was the cheap juice i was buying. I switched this weekend to a new supplier. Three plus days now and no gunk build up. No performance drop. But back to the cleaning the only way i have read about that Companies that sell vaping supplies have recommended is to soak in alcohol then dry. But they say not to do it but every two weeks. personally i think it is from after two weeks of running different flavors you might find the vapor tasting funny. That is when i would clean with alcohol.

I use cheap vodka on my eGo Cone atties about every two weeks (I use carts / cartos) and it seems to work great. I just soak them in the vodka over night, rinse them with hot water in the morning, blow them out, and let them dry for a day. When I'm ready to use them again, I prime them really well with juice and away I go. This method even worked for getting Cinnabomb out of an attie.

I've read that dry burning works really well, but since I'm still a noob, I'm kind of afraid to do that at this point...I won't do it until the vodka / hot water thing stops working and it's my last resort.

wow thanks for all the responses everyone, especially the cleaning tips. cant ever get enough info on prolonging atty life. Ive only had one analog today in the morning. and no cravings. i think with the support of this forum, along with my new ego. this whole quitting process shouldn't be that hard,

I've been vaping for 16 days now and love it. I've been a 1 to 2 pack a day smoker for about 20 yrs. I've tried different ways to quit tobacco with no success until now. And now as I am new to vaping the government wants to stop me?? What and go back to the marlboro man or pop mind altering pills like chantix( ya i tried that one too, wow i was a completely different person on that stuff. and not a pleasent one.) are they nutts.
16 days and counting tobacco free

i use 91% isopropyl alcohol and Listerine to get my attys cleaned. it's worked well for me so far. i haven't lost one yet (after months of vaping) and i rotate through about 5-6 of them with different juices for each.

a couple of days ago i had the last cigarette i was saving. after vaping only (no cigs) for about 12 days at that point i figured i'd give it a shot. i read on here that a lot of people thought they were disgusting after vaping for awhile. i went outside, lit it up and after 4 drags it was in the ash tray. i don't know how i spent so many years smoking. it was just nasty and made me not want to smoke even more. i had also had a lot of beers that night and that's usually when i'd chain smoke like crazy.

i did spend quite a bit of time smoking and vaping. it took awhile to figure out what worked for me. once i did that, quitting smoking was easy. don't worry if you still end up smoking for a while. in the beginning, just think about all the cigarettes that you aren't having.

man i know what your saying, i just lit up an analog. after less than two days of vaping it tasted so foul that i had to put it out. i don't know how i did it for so long. jeesh

Good start. As for cleaning after dripping, I hardly ever have to clean my attys since I started dripping. I cleaning regularly when using the carts but they actually don't gunk up as much with the dripping. If vapor diminishes and you see dark junk on the atty, you can give it a soak at that point.
