Today will be my first day without cigarettes. Since I started vaping about 6 weeks ago I've seen a gradual reduction in my desire to smoke real cigarettes. Yesterday I only smoked 2 so it's time to declare myself smoke free starting today.

What's been interesting is that my cigarette consumption fell off almost immediately when I started vaping without any real conscious effort on my part.

Wish me luck!!!

Congrats and good luck! Just remember the first two weeks are the hardest for most. When it gets rough reach for your PV and chain vape until it goes away. The first two weeks I slept with mine beside the bed

Awesome! Good luck! What zapped forgot is come here for assistance, too. Your ECF family is here for you. :)

Thanks for the support, it's going to be a little challenging as my wife still smokes, although she has started vaping too. She's struggling a little with the idea of quitting but I'm optimistic she can do it....

Good luck.

My first day will be Monday so we'll get thru this journey together! I only had two analogs yesterday. But I'm going to sit around a camp fire this weekend and told myself it was OK. Also weighed in for the biggest loser at work. So I'm giving up carbs and analogs at the same time. If i'm alive and not in jail in 90 days, I should be much happier about my health!!! :rickroll:

Congrats on your switch!! As for your wife: she's not quitting smoking, she's just starting to vape. No pressure. After a while, she may just realize the cigs just don't taste good anymore. I know I certainly did.

Don't worry - some of us take longer than others. It took me about 6 months to quit completely. Keep at it, and vape through the cravings! :)

Same thing happened to me. When I started vaping, I had no intention to completely quit the cigarettes. But after a month and a half with my ego twist, I found myself only smoking 1 or 2 a day. And I didn't even really need them. I was just doing it out of habit. I decided to cut out the daily smoking. I still smoke a cigarette once in awhile when the urge strikes me, but the taste is so awful now that after I do it, I'm quickly reminded that I don't want them anymore.

I'm the type of person that obsesses about it whenever I try to deny myself cigarettes. So I have given myself "freedom to smoke" I have cigarettes in my house, and I keep a pack in my car. There is something about knowing that I can have one anytime I want that sets me at ease. But most of the time I don't even touch them. I've only smoked one cigarette in the past 10 days, and I think that's pretty good considering that I never set out to quit smoking when I took up vaping.

This is the approach that works best for me. Not saying that it'll work for everyone.

took me over a year, but I live with a smoker too! One that to this day continues to ask me if I need any cigs rolled. I have to tell him ALL THE TIME, "I DON'T WANT ANY CIGS"!!!
It has been over 18 months since my last analog and I still have to tell him NO THANKS! go figure...
I think he wishes I still smoked WITH him....
