Glad to hear you're doing well, and hope your husband is too! Yeah, feeling tired/drained was normal the first couple of days-there's other stuff in cigs that MAY have an effect here with some(all the other additives not just nicotine)-continue to drink lots of water to stay hydrated and flush out the system. Wishing you two continual success!

Hang in there with us - you can do this! For the first week, I kept my hands and mind as busy as possible. I was on this forum for hours and hours, reading and posting. I looked at e cig blogs, and watched some videos on youtube.

I also am fortunate to have a hobby of crocheting, so I could sit down and fiddle with my yarn and keep my hands occupied. With my trusty ego in reach, of course. I felt very good knowing that the hat I was trying to make wouldn't smell like smoke, lol. Maybe Banana Nut Bread, which was the flavor I was vaping, but not cigarette smoke!

I personally think that smoking cigarettes for a long period of time is such a complicated habit/addiction. Getting the nicotine your body wants is one part of it, but all the other little rituals and things we have done thousands of times when smoking plays into it, too.

Vaping is working for me I believe because it addresses all those parts, not just the nicotine. Having something in my hand that goes to my mouth is a BIG part of it for me. I smoked for 40 plus years, and cannot even begin to calculate how many times I lit a cigarette and put it to my mouth. There are probably deep grooves in my poor brain as a result of those actions. It will take a little time to get some new "habit" grooves there. It's probably not very scientific, but that's how I think about it.:)

The last two late afternoons I've been hyped up and twitchy... yesterday I crashed hard and was pretty out of it. Wondering if the same is going to happen today too... We'll get through it. Today is worse than yesterday though. Hubby left for awhile, I think he needed some quiet time since he spent all morning home alone with our 3.5 year old son.

I crochet too! Lately I've gotten into crocheting doilies, they've been a lot of fun. I've got some really cool mercerized cotton and I've been mulling over some plans in my head to make myself a crocheted case that'll hold my vaporizer, charger and bottle of juice. I'm going to be starting that tonight once little man goes to bed.

I'm having a bit of a hard time at 18mg, keep getting a nicotine buzz. Backed off a bit to 12mg... My husband said he thought he really needed more, he's a heavier smoker than me though.

One place said that 18mg is like a regular cigarette and 12mg for a light cigarette. I just notice that with a higher mg content, I vape less often. With a 12mg vape, well, just leave the darn thing in my mouth...:p

All-in-all, vaping less often or taking lighter vapes may help.

Congratulations on your progress, Australe. Sounds like you are really focused, positive and I appreciate the honesty of your posts. I just kind of scanned this thread, so this may have already been said, but be sure to stay hydrated. The posts about keeping busy really helped me when I started vaping and switched from analogs.

If 18mg seems to be too much nic and 12mg is not quite enough, you could mix some half and half which would be 15mg, right in the middle. Remember, quitting analogs can be incredibly difficult. That is why I was so glad I found this forum because the support here has really helped. And although I knew I was making the right decision and that the reward of much better health was important, I also had to remember to give myself small rewards for daily milestones, especially the first week or two.

I hope you and your hubby hang in and that vaping becomes a pleasurably sufficient substitute for smoking. Gotta tell ya, I enjoy vaping WAY more than smoking. So many flavors, so little time. I also hope you continue to share your experience with us. Some of us really enjoy hearing the success stories, especially if they are hard won. Namaste.

I don't really wanna quit vaping :) Best to just go lower vape more for now :) ECBlends was sweet enough to give us a sample bottle of Chocolate Malt with 0mg nic in it. The other day I added some to my tank to help cut the nic level so I could keep vaping..

I know it is not vaping for vapings sake, but, I vape in the house, as compared to smoking, and I carry it around when I change rooms. I also take it in the car to work. One thing that I did was to put an extra battery, clearomizer, atomizer, and mostly empty juice bottle in the car. I don't want to be without it, or dropping it and breaking the clearomizer. I just take a vape or three as I feel the need.

Definitely my little side kick lately :)
Going to be in the next few weeks deciding what else I want to get for a backup... My husband for a Halo Triton starter kit so if I needed to I could use his second one. I'm seriously considering going with another MPT2.
