First Dead Atty

Hello all. Well, I think I burned out my first atty today  ..well maybe it was the end of Friday, that was when I lost all flavor and the vapor went way down.

When I got my Yeti kit it had 2 attys with it, I've used the same one since I got it just over 2 weeks ago. I cleaned the atty out every night by blowing it out, But this Friday it just lost all flavor and HT. I thought I was doing something wrong  since I've been playing with cart filling mods .

Tonight I switched over to the 2nd atty I had, and I was just like day 1 :). Nice vapor and TH.

Since I use to be a 2+ pack a day smoker, and since I switched to vaping, I vap almost none stop when I'm up. So I just wanted to know is 2+ weeks about the average life for atty being used by a heavy vapor like myself.

That seems to be about how long mine lasted too, Im using a dse-901 atty i got from litecigusa.net, of course, i've been playing around with 5v too, on a makeshift usb pt... just had one of my buddies brand new 801 attys go on on that though, not sure what happened, it was producing a wicked amount of vapor, went to drip a couple more drops on it, and then nothing...

I guess, I need to say on my first 510 atty, after a few days I got a usb bypass for it. Some say that the bypass is 5v and the batts are 3.7. I don't know how true that is. I'm dunno crap about that kind of stuff. So I don't know if that makes a difference in how long the atty will last if its on a bypass.

If anyone does know please let me know.

I just ordered 5 more attys so, I'll keep one for my bypass and one that I take with me on batts only see what burns out first.

it all depends, the usb standard specifys 5v current, but there are other factors involved. for instance, the ports on my pc run at a constant 4.97 volts, regardless of what i do, but i also run a 850 watt powersupply. My dads laptop on the other hand, won't even power a passthrough. This is probably because its an old dell, posibly not even USB 1.1 standard. long story short, it doesn't have the amperage to power more than a laser mouse. But back to the passthroughs, some do run at the current that the port runs at, be it 5v, 4.97 as mine is, or what ever the computer is putting out to it. Other pass throughs arent TRUE passthroughs, as the step down the voltage to something similar to a fully charged batery. Batterys on the otherhand, will usually start out at a higher voltage than they are rated for, annd diminish as they are used. this is why a freshly charged battery will give you a better hit than on that has been used for a few hours, and why that one that has been usedd for a few hours will give you more of a hit than on that is about to be dead. This is usually true of any electric curcuit too. over time, the resistance in the atomizer will increase, which is why a new atty is better than one that has been used for a few weeks. This explains why using a higher voltage on an old atty seemingly brings it back o life. The higher voltage will overcome the resistance of the atty. This can all be a bit confusing, and I don't even understand it my self fully. if someone else notices something wrong with anything i said, please chime in and correct me.

That's not average. I haven't lost one in 9 months (other than the ones I killed - 4) but that isn't average either. You should get 2-3 months from them from considering all reports not just anecdotals of 6volt drippers. I'd make sure it was dead by putting it on a multimeter - first blow it out - no vapor = either dead or flooded - and if that doesn't work, soak it in 151 vodka for about a 1/2 hour - blow it out, dry, prime and vape. If no go, send it in for a replacement. Most give at least a month on them.
