I am having a blast with my first rda (Mutation x). The first couple builds I did single coils from 1.6 to 1.9 ohms. I wanted to try my hand at a dual coil and man, right when I thought it could not get any better. Using Coil Toy I was shooting for a .9 build using 28 gauge. The multimeter shows .9 and the Cloupor shows 1.0. Close enough! Thanks to this forum for all the great information....
A couple take aways from being new at building.
-Coil toy or Steam engine is a life saver! Both are really spot on and great to see different configurations to try.
-Lining up the coils on center post and adjusting your airflow on the coils are key (from my limited experience).
-The tricky part for me isn't the coil build but determining the amount of wick (cotton in my case) and how tight it is in the coil. These both make a huge difference and I am not consistent at this yet. I guess practice makes perfect!
Based on my above experience I though it would be cool if other new builders share their experience and lessons learned on what is working or they need help with.
Of course, include pics if possible
-Dual coil with 28 awg: 10 wraps around a 2.3mm drill bit
- .9 ohms running at 27 watts/5.2 volts (Cloupor DNA 30 clone)
-High Caliber 'Blue Raspberry' .6% nic 50/50 blend = TASTY!
