Howdy, I just built my first dual coil on my first mech. Im using the Nemesis with a Nimbus RDA. I built two coils with 32 gauge Kanthal and 3mm silica. Each coil came out to 2.7 ohms. The final coil came out to 1.3ohms, which is right about where I wanted it (don't want to go sub-ohm). I checked each coil 3 times as it was being built (on a multi meter, an ohm tester and a ProVari) because Im so dang nervous...being the first time and all

Anyway, the coils were a little slow to heat up during dry firing, but they did heat up from the center out. How can I make my coils heat up faster, or is this fine as long as Im getting the desired result?

The draw is a little airy. I had them drill out the holes on the Nimbus a little larger after reading that people were suggesting that. Now I wish I hadn't ,but I can live with it. Is there a good way to block them a little without blocking all the way?

The biggest part is, this thing is a smoke machine!! I am VERY happy with the amount of vapor produced and the throat hit, but the flavor is a little light. Anyway to improve that?

All and all, Im very happy with my first dual coil build, and thanks reading all the advice here, I feel that I was very cautious and safe while building it. Cant wait to try my second one!

Thanks for any criticisms and advice.

Blocking one of the holes will starve one of the coils for air and cause a harsh throat hit.

If it is too airy try covering both holes with aluminum tape and poking a series of needle holes in them 1 or 2 at a time per side til you find your sweet spot.
(Nimbus V2 clone = x2 adjustable airhole)
