I thought I'd share some of my thoughts on the first few weeks with my GG stuff. I have a Stainless Steel GGTS (#657) with a UFS Mk 2, which I got by camping on the UK supplier's website for a few weeks!
First of all I was a bit worried about what other people might think of it, but I was wrong to worry. Everyone's been very interested and curious about it, sometimes even admiring - smokers, non-smokers and people who use e-cigs. People think it looks like a Light-saber from Star Wars or a Sonic Screwdriver from Doctor Who. It's got a really nice steam punk sort of feel to it, and being able to see liquid sloshing around is an especially nice touch.
Turns out, if e-cigs have to be big to work properly, you may as well go for something that looks gorgeous and enjoy it!
Getting used to the UFS was a bit of a struggle for me. I've discovered that the thickness of the juice is *very* important. The first juices I tried - my favorites from before - were too thin, and it meant that I couldn't find a sweet spot. I had to pretty much take it to pieces and start again every single day because it would go too dry, too dry, too dry... FLOODED just like that. I wasted a LOT of juice in my first week!
Once I'd found the right juice it all seemed to start working perfectly. I could open the juice valve nearly all the way open without it flooding, so the attys are being perfectly fed and I don't get vacuum problems from the tank when the juice valve is closed too much for very thin liquid. The 510 LR attys seem to be working quite nicely.
Worst problem I've had was that I destroyed an atty by overscrewing the telescope and it pushed the bottom connector of the atty up, shorting it I think. Killed two batteries before I realised what was happening
Before I found the right juice I used the GGTS without the UFS for dripping as my 'backup' in case I flooded the UFS at work, but I've not had to use it for a week or so.
All in all it's pretty amazing - and figuring it all out is quite fun really - but I'm still looking forward to the Odysseus so I can stop using generic atomizers too!
Thanks very much, Imeo, you're a legend!!
