So, I recently received my Joye510 and I am not as blown away as others here seem to be. A little background, I started vaping at the end of June with a M401. I used that for about 2 months before moving onto the DSE901. And not about a month or two later I have just got a Joye510.

So first of all, I am not that impressed with the vapor production. Not sure if the atty just isn't "broken in" yet, but for the past 3 days or so, the vapor I am getting out of this thing is no better than my 901, and I would even consider it less. I am using 1 regular cart and one with a PTB filling and not much difference in either. I am also filling the cart and dripping. I wanted a 510 because I kept hearing about the "loads of vapor" it produces.

Besides vapor production, the very first thing I noticed when using my 510 is "where is this massive throat hit?" I notice no difference from my 401 and 901 when it comes to throat hit. What the heck is going on here?

I also notice that when I drag on my manual batteries for 7 or more seconds, the unit beginning to blink and cuts me off. I also thought that was the reason everyone loved the 510 because there was no cut off time...

Everyone is right as well, the 510 is very lacking in the taste department. It's pretty much on par with my M401. The 901 is the definite winner in this category.

So I am wondering if this is normal? Do I need to give it time to break in?

I do like the fact that this e-cig seems sturdier than the 901 and I like the raised button alot better than the buttons on the 901. I dont know, I like it, but it isnt as great as I thought it was going to be. When I went from the 401 to the 901 I was just amazed. It was quite the difference. Maybe I just built it up in my mind. I don't know...

Having both a 901 and a 510... I will say that IMO, no.. that's not normal.

And I've never hit a cutoff with any of my 510 manual batteries. Weird.

Yeah, and my batteries don't seem to last very long at all! even compared to the 901 or 401. Seriously, anyone else have a 7 second cutoff?

Your mom said not to say...
I have never been that impressed with the 510 either. You are not alone. I prefer the taste of the m401 over the 510. I think many people confuse harshness with throat hit because the 510 is very harsh even after the break in period. I have had mine for a month and I am not impressed. The battery life does indeed suck, it has to be it's worse feature, the only saving grace is that it doesn't take too long to recharge. The carts are messy and a pain in the ...., and don't last long anyway. You end up dripping with it, I'm sorry I want a E-Cig not a stick to drip into then puff on. If it was all that everyone claims I would not have moved on to the KR808D-1 and GreenCig, or bothered with a mod for it. It does give a lot of vapor though, but if I want more vapor I can add some VG to the fluid and my m401 will produce a cloud so thick you can't see through it.

No I do not think it is normal...I have a titan 510 in hand as I am reading your post and i pressed the manual button for 10 seconds and no it did not cut off or blink. And when I dragged for 7 or more seconds the vapor was thick and heavy (definitely dont need to drag anywhere near that long) Maybe return the unit for a different one..It is most likely defective...

BTW my batteries last all day....

Really? I must vape a lot more than you. I've had my 510's for a month and at first they were good for 4-6 hrs, then 2-4 hrs, now down to about 1 hr. They only take 1 1/2 hrs to charge, but I'm constantly having to charge them.

I just ordered a Vapor King to see how that is, but I love mixes flavors, even though I have to do it often.

All day!!!?.......SIX hours!!!?............boy, you guys must have gotten the 'upper crust' model.

I got those cheap 'pen style' black, two per kit, 510s. I've never had trouble out of them in the six weeks I've used them...but I never got one to last all day, six hours, four hours and so on.

On the other hand, maybe you guys don't use them as much as I. On the third hand, they've always delivered plently of fog (provided I got the cartridge stuffed correctly).........so, I'm at a loss as to what to say.

The BE510 (from Bestecig) definitely has a 7-second cutoff, and there may be others as well.

My BE510 attys also took longer to break in than my Joye 510s I got earlier (but that may be because I was switching off between them and my older ones). I've got 2 and neither seems really broken in yet after more than a week.

Bestecig is a good company, and their version of the 801 atty (the BE112) is great, but I have a feeling they may have dropped the ball a bit on their 510, and others may be using the same design (or buying BE510s and reselling them).

But at any rate, the vapor production will improve as the attys get broken in. Maybe not to the level of Joye 510s, but better than when they're brand new.

The first 2 atties that came with my 510 were amazing before they died, then I've tried atties from 510s from a few other places and they were just not anywhere near as good as the first 2, and I ended up getting a kr808, waiting on a 901 lil chuck and some atties to try out, kr808d-1 is decent but I still liked my original 510 a lil better, but the no hassle slap a cart on and vape thing is great.

manual 510 cut off.... i can tell you its probably shorting out.

ive made my manuals short out, and they blink and turn off, with switch engaged..
Someone in another thread reported that they were told by the supplier that "the new 510s" had a 7-second cutoff on the manual batteries to save the attys from overheating.

I've been told by a supplier that Joye 510s (new or old) don't have such a cutoff.

Well, Im not sure what to say, because mine does have one... I'm pretty sure its a real Joye 510, anyone know how I can tell for sure? It doesnt seem to say on the battery like the 901 did...

You will love your VaporKing KR808D-1 compared to the 510. It's far superior in every way, I wish I had believed the hype over the cartomizers when I first started this it could have saved me $150 or so.

Yeah, it kind of sucks to have to keep trying every model. I thought the 510 was gonna be the good one, since everyone seemed to love it, but now I am not so sure... Oy, I wish I could just find something that worked good and delivered on what it says...
