I got my sigelei 150W TC in on Thursday and wanted to give you folks my first impression of my first TC device.
1. Battery Life: I was looking for a device I could use all day without charging or changing batteries. The device uses dual 18650's and with two Samsung INR18650-25R batteries, I get a GOOD two days off of one set. By the way, if any of you have the XTAR VC2 charger, it will charge INR batteries. I emailed XTAR with that question since their website only listed IMR batteries. They assured me it would charge INR batteries and said they would change their website and paperwork to reflect that.
2. Size, Looks, and Feel: I was concerned with the size most of all because I carry my device to work with me and need to be able to carry it around without it being too bulky or by maybe breaking the tank off when I bend over. I have for several years been wearing, what I call, carpenter jeans at work that have a narrow long pocket along the right thigh that has worked out great for my Provari. The Sig fits great in that narrow pocket too. You can't bend your thigh bone so no chance of breaking anything. It came with a clear silicone cover but I haven't used that. I think it will be too tight of a fit in that pocket. It also would cover the absolute beauty of the finish of this device. It has what almost feels like a ruberize finish which to me feels very luxurious. I'm a 24 year military veteran so what feels luxurious to me may be different for you. The build quality is top notch. Very sturdy feeling and fits into your hand perfectly. The battery door fits tight and blends with the rest of the device very well. The screen was unreadable in direct sunlight. I did find today that the mirrored finish of the screen is caused by a thin protective film over the glass. I peeled it off and the screen is much brighter. You still have to shade the screen with your hand to see it in direct sunlight but you can see it.
3. Ease of use: This was my first box mod so I wanted something advanced but easy to use. The menu is very easy to learn. The documentation is well written and it comes with a 90 day warranty. My only issue with the documented specs is that it states that the ohm range is 0.1 - 3.0 ohms. I have since found out that the 0.1 minimum is for power (Kanthal builds). The minimum for Ni200 TC coils is 0.05 ohms. Apparently it will not read Titanium and there is no USB port for upgrades.
4. The Chip: Here's where you folks may can clear things up. I have emailed Sigelei with this issue but have not received an answer yet. (I just emailed them today). From what I have seen on reviews the chip used in the Sigelei 150W TC is the YiHi SX330V3SL. One Youtube reviewer said he couldn't understand why it wouldn't read Titanium wire since it had the same chip as the iPV4S. I did some digging and found that the iPV4S has the YiHi SX330V4SL chip. Apparenly the difference in the 3SL and 4SL is the ability to read the Titanium wire. Most of you are much smarter than me on these thing and can maybe clear this up.
Anyway... For my first box mod, I think the Sigelei 150W TC is a winner. I love it. If you have any questions, let me know.
