Love it! Love it! Love it!

Received my Joye 510 this morning and have been vaping constantly. It came with some pre-filled cartridges of Marlboro flavor, which was interesting, it has a tinge of caramel nuances. Also ordered a 30ml bottle of 18mg menthol flavor, not as menthol-y as I would like (any suggestions there?)

Additionally, I have not wanted an analog cigarette yet, which is a good sign, but after a tasty meal will be the true test.

My first batt went dead though, after only an hour and a half of using it. :(

Congrats! You'll like the 510. It's the model that got me off of analogs. Did you top-off the charge on your batteries after you got them? They usually come semi-charged, but should last longer than an hour on a full charge. You can get an eGo battery for it that will last nearly all day. I added on to my arsenal for when I'm out for a while without any way of recharging.

Congrats! and welcome to the world of vaping! I agree with OIIIIIO that the battery may not have been fully charged because it should last longer. I also agree with buying an ego battery, because they last a really long time. Or if you have multiple 510 batteries from the kit you could go for a PCC and have 1 charging while vaping the other. Either way welcome to a new healthier lifestyle.

Mr. rusty, or can I may you email? I think your stock 510 batteries should last a little bit longer than that (but not much). We all go through that frustration. I got frustrated enough to start shopping for a battery mod just a month into this thing. Having your PV look like a cigarette starts to become unimportant FAST when you've got 4 batteries in rotation and two chargers going all the time.
Lot's of people in here are going to suggest that you buy an eGo and that well may be a fine solution for you. It's a nice PV with decent battery life but one thing to be aware of is when the battery quits working on the eGo a new one will cost you $20.00 plus. My suggestion would be to skip the middle step and start shopping for a mod right away. Look for one that takes an 18650 battery if you want the maximum battery life. You can get 18650s that are rated at 3,000 mAh. I believe a stock 510 or 901 is about 180 mAh.

Oh yeah, if you decide to go this rout avoid the little ones that use a 10440 battery. they don't last as long as the eGo battery.

Yea, the 510 is a great set up. I've collected several different systems, over the past year. But, I always use a 510 Atty and Cart, even if I need to buy an adapter.

Not sure why you're only getting one and a half hours on the battery though. I typically got most of a day in, on the standard battery, before I had to charge it. Although, I did have a couple times that the Automatic battery seemed to go quick. I found out that it was turning itself on just from motion (riding bike on a pretty rough trail). That's one of the main reasons that I went to manual.

If, after the newness wears off, and you're still vaping alot; you may want to look into another power source. Something like an eGo (Tornado) would give you plenty of life between charges. I can get a day and a half to two days.

But, like all these things, there's always a trade off. My Tornado's button was easy pressed while in my computer bag. So, I found a plastic clip, in a box of junk, that clipped perfectly to the battery body. Made a small notch for the button, so it would be recessed. Actually, the clip came with a package of stereo wire hides that joins 2 strips together (Lowes).

Anyhow, good luck with your new 510.

An hour and a half is about right for the life span of a 510 battery. Just make sure you always swap them up and the same time and you should be set. If you like your 510 and want more battery life, go with the Ego. You'll get anywhere from 6-10 hours use and you can still use your 510 atties and carts with it! :)

Everyone who encouraged you on the eGos is correct: it is a sweet little unit BUT...it takes proprietary batteries that are pricey. And there are sticky button problems with them.
I just got my ProVape this week: non=proprietary batts and uses all my 510 hardware/cartware. And i get more than a day of life, good strong vaping from the battery. I love my eGo and my 510s, but they are resting comfortably in a drawer while the ProVape is my constant companion.
BTW...I found extra batts for it yesterday, 2 for under 5.00 shipped High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby!
Stick a carto with some Halo juice on this thing and you are ready to ROLL!

PS also had a code for it for addl 10% off the batts, but I forget what the code was..Sorry!

Hee Hee, I told you everybody was going to tell you to get an eGo.
These people are crazy about their 510 based models.

That's because he eGo/Tornado really is great :D The 510 was my first ecig and I like it, but eventually went back to analogs because of short battery life, leaky atomizers, and constantly #$%ing around with carts trying to make them perform consistently. I gave up on refilling carts and started dripping.

Now I have an eGo with a shorty drip tip and an LR atomizer. No more leaks, no more worrying about having to change/charge batteries constantly, and no more damn carts!

emailrusty, do yourself a favor and get an eGo with a drip tip.

+1! depending on how much you vape, an hour and a half seems about right on a stock 510 battery. i used to use a PT whenever i was at home but using a PCC (and a USB car adapter) was handy whenever i was on the go. i do recommend upgrading to an eGo eventually though. you can use your 510 attys with it, battery life is awesome (even if you're a heavy vaper) and it's just amazing when combined with a LR atty and drip tip.

An EGo is good for battery (its a 510 unit as well just with longer battery life) BUT if you spend lots of time in front of the PC you can get a PT - I use mine almost all the time lol
I did get a 5v one from madvapes (not the sit n go one, the sit n stay one lol, as well as a standard 3.7v one from cignot - its nice to have options :) IF you get a PT also get a USB/AC wall charger too - save your PC ports. I got that from madvapes too as it puts out more power than the cignot one which means I can use it for both PT.

Qh, I'm not dissin' the 510! It's a great model. lots of options with the 510. I just wish they made an eGo type battery for the 901. THEN you'd have somethin'!
Turn down the defense-O-meter a bit you 510 fans. I use a 510 with cartos when I drive. I think they're a great PV. Just like my 901 better that's all.

The eGo does not have a replaceable battery does it (internally)?

So since they only last about 1-300 charges wouldn't a battery mod work better since replacement batteries are only like $5 a set (Prodigy V2, Chuck, or similar)?

The average cost of an eGo battery is like $22 in the US.

Am I the only one, or does this not make "cents" financially to go with an eGo rather than a battery mod?

I've been using my Ego, almost exclusively, since February..still going strong! :)

And no, it's a propietary battery.
