I just received my Blu kit (fri). Ordered Sun evening. Not bad..4 business days but the anticipation was killing me (lol). Since this is my first, the only thing I can compare it to is a reg cig.

First thing I noticed out the box is it's not the same diameter as an analog. It almost reminds me of Camel Wides back in da day (do they still have those? Idk).

Once fully charged, I gave it a go....took a slooow, 4-5 sec draw. I noticed the following:

1. Very noticeable sizzle. haha
2. Descent amount of vapor..more than what I see on youtube vids of Blu.
3. The vapor is hot, much hotter than smoke. I know it's basically hot steam, but I never really thought about it until the steam hit my tongue. lol
4. Their tobacco flavor doesn't smell or taste like tobacco (at least not yet). Perhaps a slight hazelnutty/sweet coffee scent.
5. After the session (about 10 solid hits) I "felt" my lungs. What I mean is it felt like something was coating the insides of my lungs. I guess I'm not used to it yet??

I'll do a recap when I run out of my first carto. But as of now, I really don't know what I think about e-cigs.

Ok, it's been 45 min since my first session and I just picked it up again to give it a whirl. I just took a few quick (2-3) sec hits and I now taste a little of the tobacco flavor. I don't know how to describe the tobacco-part of the flavor but it's almost like a cross between fresh tobacco and the "ashy" aftertaste from analogs.

So far, the flavor isn't all that bad. A bit sweet, but not bad.

BTW, how do I know the carto is empty? Do I have to wait for a bad/burning taste?

Guyver, since this is my first and only e-cig, I don't know how to answer about the cartos.

So far, I've taken about 12 long (5 sec) hits and bout 10 short (2-3 sec) hits. Scratch that, 11 short hits....No, make that 12 short hits. :) :)

I also noticed that the shorter hits are more comforting to my tongue as it's not as hot.

I have never ever counted the hits on my analogs before but I will the next time I go out to smoke so I can compare how long the carts last.

Another observation: My kit came with 2 "dummy" carts but looks like they included the atty's. Perhaps I can get some 306 carts and try them out?

I hate to break this to you... but that kit you bought is... well... not a good one. I would put it on par with the NJoy Npro that I bought to get me started. Same crappy flavor, cheap carto lining, sad sack battery. Don't be surprised if you notice the tip light up while your in your car without even taking a drag. Something to do with vibration and cheap automatic switches.

But take heart... there are much better pv's out there for the taking. You'll have to spend a couple of extra bucks to get them... but they're out there. I went with a mod (Prodigy V1.3). But it's not necessary to go quite that far.

I've heard a lot of new pv'ers rave about the e-go and you get them in a starter kit for a decent price. Make sure you check the master coupon code list on this board for a discount code, before you buy. PS is the only site I haven't seen a coupon code for.

VAPIN' was here..... Where might he be next?

o sorry bout that...man....havent been trying new things since i think i found what i've been looking....wow but i thought they threw out the attys and went to a 2 piece carto/batt...???

They did switch to cartos. It's just the "fake carts" that come with atty's I guess. Well at least I think they're atomizers. My kit came with 2 fake white carts (caps) with 2 atomizers. I also got a box of cartomizers that are filter yellow in color. It's just 2 pieces...carto and batt.

Is it like where it has an exposed bridge atomizer and the cartridge slides on to entirely cover the atomizer? (so it looks like it has two pieces but actually has three)

Yes, the pcc pack came with 2 batteries. One of the batteries had an atomizer and fake cart attached (all white). The fake cart looks like a white pen cap. A second battery was in the charging hole and a second atomizer with fake cart was in one of the 5 cart holes.

So I'm assuming this is how all Blu kits came setup from the very beginning. Perhaps they still have alot of stock on these. But the NEW cartos are 1 piece and it came with 5 of those. So I took out the fake carts with atty's and replaced with cartos.

So I don't confuse anyone else with my descriptions, here's what came in the kit:

1. PCC (i got white)
2. 2 batteries (white as well)
3. 2 attys with fake carts (white)
4. USB charger (for single battery)
5. Wall wart with extension to charge PCC.
6. 5 cartomizers in filter yellow color. (not cartridges but cartomizers)

I'm sure Blu will eventually run out of stock on the "old" kit setup which will mean they'll just omit the atty/empty cart thingys on subsequent kits. So I guess I got a bonus by being able to use other 306-type carts should I want to try the "old" Blu setup :)

I just wouldn't use it in public. ;x

LOL, that was my initial reaction, but now that I've been vaping for a while, I do use my Vapemate in public. I'd rather hand out a few more ECF cards to curious smokers than sit in a corner and stealth vape. I do understand that some vapers don't want to draw attention to themselves, personally I'm a walking billboard for vaping, so I figure if my funny looking contraptions start a conversation and get another smoker interested, it's worth the strange looks and comments.
