Ok, so I'm two weeks in to vaping and I had my lovely run it with dry mouth. After reading through the threads I found that I should just drink plenty of water and keep drinking water while vaping. No problem. The issue seemed to be resolving itself.
Now, I know I'm not sick or coming down with anything. I just can't taste my e-juice. First I thought it was just the one juice so I changed to another tank with another e-juice...same thing. It's all of them. I have a hard time believing that all four e-juices would suddenly lose their flavor so it has to be me.
Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, please tell me how to fix it or at least that it will go away!

The only issue I have is that I'm not smelling them anymore like I used to before I got into vaping (friend at work had it before I did and smell was very strong)..... Do you steep your juices, or do you shake the bottles up very well before you use them again? This may help to bring the flavor out more, but I'm still somewhat of a newb so maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

I am of the opinion that this happens when you get a small drop of the juice in your mouth directly. I could be wrong - it could just be from overdoing the vaping, but I'm going to stick with my theory. It's almost like a very minor chemical burn. Thankfully it does go away quickly.

If it happens that you know a drop of juice got in your mouth, rinse immediately and drink a warm cup of chamomile tea with lemon and honey. It helps to get you back to normal quickly.

This is pretty normal, as others have said, water helps, as does lightly scrubbing your tongue with a wet toothbrush on a regular basis. Some say a strong flavor like cinnamon will also shock your taste buds back into action almost like MSG in food, I use a clove vape and get the same effect without risking my tanks.

For me, this vaper's tongue thing has been going on for 3 months already. I've done everything everybody says but I still can't taste the juices.

Try some very cool menthols, or straight absinthe. U well taste those.

That being said u might be the only one who can enjoy a Tuna Vape. Hehe!

Sounds like classic Vaper's Tongue. No one is certain why it happens. You milestones for this problem will be along the lines of: first week, a month after that, 3 months, maybe once more at 6 months. It does go away. (But I'm not sure whaddup with BillyTheWild's situation - that's extreme.) Now? I can't recall the last time - it's been that long.

Switch up to something you might not normally vape. Cinnamon works for some people - have to use something metal or glass for that flavor. Peppermint... I went to menthols and clove when it hit me - the only flavors that got through. Early on when it happened tasting menthol was better than tasting nothing.

Hmmm.... thinking about your situation I'm wondering if it has something to do with your hardware. Me? I can't taste flavor with cartos. That seems to be the exact opposite of the majority but different people get more - or less - flavor out of any given device. It might have something to do with your vaping technique as well. But first, what hardware - battery, voltage, delivery device & resistance - are you using?

Also one more bit of advice, exhale some/all the vapor through your nose if you don't already, I find even with vaper's tongue I can still get a 'taste' of the liquid I'm using by getting it into my nose and smelling the fresh vapor.

WARNING! This technique does NOT involve sticking a PV up your nose! (You knew that? Right?)

I thought about that too and so I kept buying different hardware but still have not been able to shake this vaper's tongue thing. It came after 1 month of vaping. I vape mostly menthol now b/c that's the only juice I can "taste" - well, the cool sensation from menthol really is not a taste but you know what I mean. Like for 555 menthol, I can "taste" the menthol part but not the nutty 555 flavor like I did before. For strong flavors like cinnamon etc I can usually taste it for the first few hits but it goes away afterward.

Also one more bit of advice, exhale some/all the vapor through your nose if you don't already, I find even with vaper's tongue I can still get a 'taste' of the liquid I'm using by getting it into my nose and smelling the fresh vapor.
That works somewhat for me.

I think there's a video of someone on Youtube using a cigalike via the nasal passage, I'd never do it, but it's out there!

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

If it's on YouBoob, chances are it's way out there. (YouTube is giving humanity a bad reputation. Expecting the Aliens to land any time now and... Well you know it will end badly.)

I find when this happens that I also can't taste food very well. I experience it as a minor chemical burn to the tongue. Since I started drinking lots of liquids when I vape, I have not had any problem... except once two weeks ago when I had a clogged clearo and drew hard in it and got a drop of liquid in my mouth. My theory is it is the result of bathing the tongue in nicotine.
