....... but as with most things, japan is way behind the times.....

Like what? For eg.?

By the way, I just returned from spending a month in the US. I was at craft schools at various places in NC, GA and NY. Apart from one single young lady newbie, (who has just started vaping and had just ONE battery and CE4) and who had never heard of the ECF, I did not meet ONE person who had even HEARD of ecigs.

when you think about all of the tech that this country puts out, its still a pretty low tech place. ATM's that close at 6, a highly antiquated banking system, mass transit system that, while it works well, closes before midnight... hell even television programming. the main tv you get here is still old school comedy troops like laurel and hardy. the variety shows of old, are all alive and well here, and basically the only thing on. even Hikari TV is kinda garbage.

on the vaping front, they just dont want to allow you to get a ecig, unless you get it from lawsons with 0 nic and 5x the price its worth. (im in one of my phases where this country just pisses me off) i go through them every now and then, and generally get over it in a day or two. have had these type of spells on and off since 1991...haha

i blame the resistance to the higher tech lifestyle on the fact that most of this country are just plain old, and super resistant to any type of change. you ever try to convince an old japanese person that he or she was wrong about anything? dosnt matter how much evidence you show them, you will never change their mind...haha

oh, and fax machines are still in almost every house, and good luck finding a gov. agency in this country that knows what to do if you ever email them a .PDF. oh and email? whats that? can you please fax the forms to our office?....haha

had to have some docs translated by a lwayer, and found a guy that actually had an email address that "wasnt" his ketai. it was one of the typically mindnumbing japanese email addresses like @NIFTY.letme.makethis.emailaddy. aslong.aspossible.co.jp...:glare: and he had no idea what to do with the ,pdf scans i sent him. this was a law school graduate...

feels good to vent...:D

oh, and for the country that is so ECO minded, that they make you separate the caps from the PET bottles (made from PET), yet the VAST majority of houses are still heated with kerosene heaters, and 2strokes are still street legal everywhere, but you cant have a clean diesel in registered in certain cities, and garbage is still collected in massive piles on street corners covered only by some green netting, and they wonder why they have a crow population problem... W.T.Fudge over?

Gee Kuritaro my friend... it sounds like you suffering from the common and recurring Japan Blues. You are in desperate need of some away from Japan time. Take a holiday in your home country, and you will come back refreshed. I always do :p.

Edited to add....
It sounds like you are deep in the inaka if the majority if houses are heated by kerosene and gomi is collected on street corners. That could be your problem. Also, I never watch Japanese TV. Ever!
2 hours subjected to late night trash, could cause me to irrationally and intensely dislike all Japanese for weeks afterwards, (and pick on and snap at my husband for no reason) lol. Get CABLE ASAP! Save your sanity!

yeah, i live in the sticks. nothing but rice fields and apple orchards to go with the F2's and F-16's constantly taking off and landing. i have bouts of disgust with this place every now and again. a day or two here and there. guess its to be expected after 22 years in a places.

ill be in okinawa for the next 2 weeks for work, so the change of scenery should do me some good...

Nope. The other guys all bought vote blocks from Russia and France etc. it was such a farce. Anyway, I managed to get 6th place and 14th place according to their announcement on Facebook. Although when I checked the votes count, I was actually in the top 5 (5th place). When I questioned them on the fact that the votes put me in 5th not 6th place, they told me that the competition had closed. ??? The vote count was and still is there on their FB page, clearly putting me in 5th.

Anyway, about a month later the iTaste VV arrived. 6th-10th place won an iTaste. No other prize arrived in the box. Just the iTaste. 10th -15th place was supposed to have received a choice of smaller items, like the U-Can, mini ecig etc. When I emailed them, they ignored me. When I mentioned it on their FB page, they got quite mean, saying that I only got one prize because I wasn't the first person to choose iBox. WHAT??? Firstly I was, and that was what I got all the votes for. Secondly, the smaller prize was for 'Part 2' of the competition, which I won. The prize which they didn't send to me, wasn't awarded to anyone else.

They just didn't take the competition seriously and don't care about their supporters at all. Quite amazing really.

So basically I was cheated on so many levels. At that point I gave up in disgust. From being their main fan and supporter, I am no longer interested. I still like their products, (although the iTaste stopped working a few weeks ago, and the old one too).
