I just completed my first coil build for my KF3.1 clone. I think it turned out pretty dang good for a first attempt. And man... why didn't anyone tell me about this sooner?!?!
When i bought the KF, the local B&M built my first coil and showed me step-by-step. (1.8 ohm, single micro, organic cotton) I've been vaping it until today with no issues on my VTR. I haven't really been using it too much, because my VS dna isn't here yet and I hate the stupid extension on the VTR. So since it was almost empty, I figured I'd clean it and give a try rebuilding it. (All my supplies came in, so why not.)
I pulled it apart, cleaned it. Then I started the build. Using 30 ga Kanthal A-1 round... 4/5 wraps on the tiny screwdriver, torched it, installed it, threw it on the multimeter then gave it a test fire. Ended up with a 1.4 ohm single micro coil, organic cotton build. I'm happily vaping it around 11 watts right now and it's the best vape I've had yet. iClears and Aeros just don't compare.
Can't WAIT for my VS DNA to get here!
