I've been using coils similar to this lately. 28g kanthal, 13 wraps around a large paperclip, usually ends up between .85 - .9 ohms with dual coils. With my air holes drilled out to 5/64" on an igo w4 I get great flavor and vapor with my 50/50 blends and my max VGs. Battery life is good, juice consumption is up a little from a traditional coil setup. Dialing in the height of the coil is crucial to throat hit and flavor. Play with it a bit before passing judgement. It took me a few tries to get it right.

Yea, I will def give this a whirl and see what happens.

From looking at your photos, I would recommend that you use more cotton under and around the coils and in the drip well too. In my RDA I fill up the well completely with cotton and it will hold about 15-18 drips.

You could probably nearly double the amount of cotton and have no issues. Check out some of RipTrippers videos on YouTube.

Ya, I'm going to use more cotton when I get home. I watch a ton of rip trippers but never saw one where he used that much cotton.

I saw something about 28g wrapped around 28g dual coil that I wanted to try. Same concept with the cotton under the wick.
yes there are a ton of different builds out there for sure and experimenting is the only way to find your sweet spot. 2 things are pretty important when doing any of this stuff, good batterys and a multimeter. good luck

If your wick is too saturated that will produce less vapor, you don't wanna drown your coil. When it's about the right about of saturation is when you'll see the biggest vapor production.

Ya, I'll have to sit down this weekend when I have more time to fiddle with it. I was also thinking about trying a dual coil. My coils are nice and tight for the most part (after many many tries lol.) it's a bit frustrating trying to get those big clouds and big flavor but one thing I've learned it's def trial and error. I had it hitting better on the pictures I have here better then what I have it now. I used less cotton and it was a diff coil.

with puff balls I have to dripp alot more then when using peaches and creme yarn. IDK why but the peaches and creme goes for awhile with my .7ohm micro coil build. taste better as well

Really? Never tried the yarn.....gonna have to remember that too! Does it come in different mm.? If so witch one are you buying?

I was thinking the same thing, peaches n cream sells at wal-mart for pretty cheap everyone is saying and you can boil and then pull the strands apart to use the width of wick that you desire. I might have to try that out tonight, postman should be delivering some 26g wire to my house right about now!

op, try and try again, you'll find what you like eventually and when you do it'll just be a matter of recreating that. I got to where I like mine, and well, I messed with it and I'm trying new stuff again so I gotta find my medium for my new builds all over again hehe. It's all part of the fun! :vapor:

Building is ALOT of thr fun for me. Love having some beers building in the basement and taking my time with it. Watching tv also as I build si I'm not rushing through the build. Before I know it I'm buzzed and an hour passes by. Then I juice the new build up, take a hit and the angels sing! Love building setups! Then two hours pass and I'm tired of that build. Ya temco really likes my buisness..

What rule said, use more cotton and try not to handle your cotton too much as it will compress and hold less juice.. I run dual micro at .7 with my flavor build and allot of cotton. If you stuff your rda full of cotton you will not regret it.. ive heard someone use the term 'less is more' when referring to cotton but I disagree with that person.. more is more.. less is dry.

I think 'less is more' is an attempt to say the same idea as not compressing the cotton

sure sure what what, just the normal size I guess. my coils are built on a 5/64 drill bit. I fold a piece of yarn in half and use a piece of string to pull it through. cut he loop in half and putt one over the coil in between the post and one off to the side. Seems to work great for me.

Here we go my build and wicking method with cotton balls.... get a piece of cotton. Size dosent matter but thickness does! Gently pull some off the ball paying attention not to grap a bunch or thick group of concentrated fibers 20140314_172110.jpg

Will look like this under light to show no grouping of cotton.

Next is to carefully spread the fibers or strech the cotton so its even thinner20140314_172145.jpg

When its thin fold the cotton over itself and prep to go through coil(s)20140314_172338.jpg

Then thread through the coil. This step is what gives most peeps probs, tug carefully back and forth through the coil till it slides through uniformly(sp).

Trim cotton accordingly to your dripper(will see my sryle in final pic)

Make sure coil is low/ high enough to promote airflow under and over coil. Notice with cotton installed and juiced how ya can see light through dual coil setup20140314_172030.jpg note there is more gap in person, pics suck

Last juice her up that looks like this20140314_171916.jpg

I know the way mine is built is not average 3 post build I know. I build my coil configuration like this because I vape low nic but luvs my throat hit. Have fun and hopefuly it works good for you

Note how position of coils between posts allows for maxium airflow
