Yeah, this hobby does drain the wallet, doesn't it? The Multimeter is cheaper than inadvertently causing a fire, or worse.

If the light is red, then I suppose it is charging, but not knowing what charger it is, it's really hard to give an accurate answer, sorry. You should play it safe and hold off on the mech (and I know how hard that is...) until you get the supplies you need to keep safe and just read up in the meantime. You won't regret it.

Baditude and AttyPops are the resident battery guru's. One of them should be along before long.

the charger is a generic charger with no name. charges only 1.
i just want to get 1 hit out of it before my supplies come so i can be confident it'll work.

If you adjusted your contacts/firing pin, then it may be the battery ... I wouldn't use an ICR for a mechanical mod, as they are less stable than a IMR, which I recommend (IMR battery) that you get for use with your mech. Save the ICR for a regulated APV ....

i have IMRs coming, it's just that i only have 1 ICR battery at the moment and i'm trying to get just ONE hit out of it.

The Xstar VP1 is one of the best chargers around, it also has a volt meter on it so you know the condition of the battery from the start to the end of charge, 3 charging mods and can recover some over discharged batteries. And it has a pretty blue led display. lmao.

I got into mechs after owning a Provari and building rba's, and DIY juice, so I already had most of the essentials for mech mods. When I bought the nemi I also ordered the Xstar, already had some decent AW IMR batteries which were good for a .5 ohm build, but, I wanted the extra buffer so ordered the Sony 30 amps. Now I can safely go down to .3 ohms if I want and have a decent buffer.

One of the reasons most recommend to not jump right into mechs is that it takes some skill and knowledge to make safe builds and know your batteries. I wouldn't use a IRC battery on any mod, mechanical or regulated. You are just plain lucky that that one hit you so desperately wanted wasn't your last. You obviously didn't do your homework, or you would of been scared chitless to even push the button. If there was a short in the carto, it does happen, current overrun could of happened. Yeah, not a pretty picture, hopefully your insurance is current and paid up.

from what i understand there is a kick ring that has been the problem for some others who own the nemesis. the kick ring doesnt allow the battery to sit well in the device therefore not allowing the firing button to make contact to complete the circuit.

but, then again, i dont own one so i wouldnt know firsthand. but thats what ive read.

I noticed you mentioned Mechanical and ICR battery, from what I have read and heard, not the best combination to use. IMR battery should be considered...
