All of the years I have been here I have always used cig a likes. The talk of mods kind of scared me and seemed very foriegn.

I could really never see myself using a mod. Then my friend came to visit and she had an I stick ..which did not seem so bad.

But still I used my cigalikes and smoked analogs. During recent months my son,who goes to Hookah bars, kept telling me what much better gear I could get.

Then last Friday he came home with a Epic SMPL.. Had me try it and said he was buying me one for my Bday. (which is also his Bday)

So today he brought me to the local B&M (my first time ever in a B&M!)

I was very leary about going to a B&M based on some of the stories I have reaad here.
Like was my 43 yo self going to walk into a business with a bunch of 20 YO's who could not rub two brain cells together to explain anything?

I was very pleasantly surprised!!!!!!! Not only was it a mixed group of employees and customers... everyone was happy and cheerful!!!
It was a tiny bit cloudy but not over the top. Just a little bit and it dissapated quickly.

The customer service was TOP KNOTCH!!!

The person helping us answered every stupid question that I had (twice) He went above and beyond to be professional and show me how to build a coil .. even though that is a long way off for me.
He assured me that any questions I had or help I needed to just let them know. Call or drop by. Covered all of the safety issues that should be covered.
Made a huge point to talk about safety with a mod.

So a big shout out for Vapin Lizard on HWY 64 Bradenton FL.

As a side note I am touched that my son did this for me.

Yes I did! and thank you!

I got the dark horse atty to top it.

Sounds like cloud chasing gear :)
Hope you enjoy it! Cigalikes didn't do it for me, ego's were better, but Mods (regulated and unregulated) is where it is at IMO.
There are Tons of Attys out there with their own benefits/drawbacks - fasttech is a good place to try out stuff for decently cheap IMO.

Thanks! Oh yes it does produce a lot of cloud! I really think this will just be my at home gear. For out and about I will probably still use my cigalikes.

Oh and I have a quick question.... Is there any type of atty that I can put on this that will hold more than a few drops at a time? (maybe that is a dumb question)

RDA's arent meant to hold a ton of liquid.. hence Dripping atomizer :)
That said My veritas holds 15-20 drops without leaking, and I think the magma does the same, though it does "leak" a bit (condensation build up in airflow leaks out the airflow - there are some fixes I've heard). Neither of those are for clouds though.. Also, building lower burns through juice quicker.
I like dripping too much to get a tank, so I went with a bottom fed mod instead (REO GRAND!!) I'm very happy with that (Had it since early December).

HecticEnergy's got some great points, and I'll just add my experience.

Tanks will always hold more than dripper, but I'll always prefer dripping :)

I'm not familiar with the dark horse, but my go to RDA has been a Stillare. It's the most leak-resistant RDA I've used, and it holds a pretty good amount. I just dripped about 18 drops, and that should last me quite a while, even around 45 watts. Stainless looks a little funny on a copper SMPL, but I can't argue with results!

Thank you all for you replies!

My SMPL is Stainless :)

OK I have a question.... (again)

My son and I have the same mod ..as I mentioned above I have the dark horse RDA. He has the Dog RDA $12.42-$15.02 dog RDA Atomizer - Silver

The only differences I can tell between the two is that mine has adjustable air holes and his does not. I have mine open all the way.
I also hve a smaller tip on mine then his atty has. Although I can put a larger tip on mine as it comes with a couple.

So my question is .. although I am getting some nice vapor it seems like my sons mod makes a thicker more voulumous vapor.

What could be causing this?

If his isn't adjustable, I'm assuming that's because the "wide" cap (known as a chuff, or chuff enuff) doesn't close off the airholes at all; my Stillare + chuff cap is like that. The wider cap will allow more vapor, as will having the air wide open (which both of yours are).

What resistance are your two builds? The lower of the two will have more wattage, which typically leads to more vapor. The builds themselves can even make a big difference; not all 0.5ohm builds are created equal, for example. It's also possible that your son and whoever built your coils have different skill levels (if your son didn't build it); it's an art and a science!

Also the liquid will make a difference. Higher VG will make things significantly cloudier. It's more obvious comparing 30% VG and 70% VG, as opposed to 70% and 90% VG.

Could you tell us a bit about your build? Wire gauge, resistance, # of coils, all that fun stuff?

Thanks for the reply!

The same person made both of our coils. I am not totally sure how to answer the resistance etc. If I can recall I think the wire was 24 guage and he maybe wrapped it 6 times?

Although since you mentioned the liquid.. I bet that is it. I was using a higher pg liquid (60 pg 40 vg) He was using another liquid I hae that was 60 vg 40pg. I think I will try the higher Vg and see how that goes.

Thanks!!!!
