After much research and video watching I decided to make the jump from my smok variable battery and a Kanger Protank 3 to a Nemesis clone and a Helio rda.

Pics:

Battery:

So after setting up the mod and the spring on the bottom it was time to do my first coil and wick. I went with a silica wicking material and a 28 gauge wire. I ended up doing 4 turns and got 1.58 ohms. Pic:

Everything works. It vapes decently however not what I was expecting. This is probably largely in part to it being my first coil and the resistance. (I assume?)

However the two main reasons I wanted to go to a mod and dripper was for more flavor and more vapor. ANy suggestions, tips, tricks or pointers for me? Thanks :)

I have been rebuilding rta's for a little while and am trying to get into drippers and am having the same problem. I got ambitious today and bought an igo-w3 which has five posts so I could get real creative with my coil builds. Still havent gotten a good build on there but practice makes perfect right? Time to spend a few more hours on youtube so I can get those clouds I have been chasing

That batt. looks very similar to the one that came with my K100. Due to the lack of specs I have been able to find for it, I only use it on 1.5Ω+ coils. Comparing it to a Sony VTC4 is like comparing a fully charged batt. to a nearly discharged batt.

Is it garbage? These batteries are what my local vapor shop recommended to me.

I have no way of knowing for sure. I'll post a link to a thread discussing this question. The general consensus was to recycle them. The last post came up with data from somewhere that indicated that they are good for up to 2amps. Contrast that with the Sony VTC4s @30amps.

If someone actually sold you the Kamry batt., I'd say you were ripped off until someone can prove otherwise.

This might be my issue. I will check a different shop tomorrow for the sony batteries you talked about.

Also, if you notice the air whole on the RDA is fairly high. I line it up directly over the coil but I think the hole itself is actually higher than the coil. Could this be an issue also?

I would suggest that you get this battery AW IMR 18650 3.7v 1600mAh - Batteries. It is an excellent battery for a mechanical mod and has a 24 amp discharge rate. The vendor RTD vapor is a respected battery supplier.
I agree that you will get all the flavor and vapor you want from a micro coil. Here are a couple of link to get you going.

You have a excellent setup you just need to fine tune your coil and wick a little
