This was a mod I did awhile back. It has a front end switch which I am not totally fond of. It has a LED glow effect which is nice and also a glow in the dark seal (blue band in the pictures).

It uses a protected 14500 battery. I named it lineage because it has a lot of nice lines across the housing.

WHat did you make them from? Is it some sort of flashlight tube?
THey look great.

Honestly its not the most user friendly housing to work with as space is extremely tight, due to the front end switch. Using a small button switch near the atomizer end would also be tough as you don't have much space.

That is really nice!
I'd like to know more about the glowing end.. I've heard some people machine down acrylic - is that what you did? Or did you find something off the shelf?

You can use any type of material that can diffuse the glow, acetal, plastics, nylon, etc. The best way to get something to fit right would be to custom shape it.

Ahh, figured it out: DX 4 LED Flashlight + Cell Charger. Product reviews say it's a AAA rather than the AA in the description, the LED flashlight housing is just a plastic module tacked onto the end (which is incongruous with the "run it over with a truck" solidity of the rest), and the current level for the charging sucks. For what it's supposed to do it's not worth $5 and a two week wait. But it's a solid piece of machined aluminum with a battery compartment, just what you need for a mod chassis.

EDIT: Apparently also comes in black. Looks enameled rather than anodized, though.

I knew someone would eventually find it...good sherlock skills Dave :D

Be warned that the housing quality has huge variance, it has a lot more lines than what can be seen in the pics, there are micro lines throughout the body and thus leads to a lot of issues with scratches and dings, especially coming from DX. That is why I stopped using the housing for mods as it was too unpredictable in terms of quality.

I can't deal with blemishes that aren't inflicted by me :)
