First mod on the way, still slightly confused.

After hours of research & some posts on here i ordered an itaste vtr.

I am however still confused with with VV/VW options.... Perhaps if i spent more time listening at college instead of smoking green stuff this would be alot easier...

I will mainly be using the Iclear 30s that comes with it. What voltage range should i be using? If i understand correctly, the 30s should come in at around 2.1 ohms, i found this: http://vtpics.vapertrain.com/voltagechart.jpg voltage chart, which would suggest anything over 4.5v will be too much and damage this coil... Am i on the right track here? Start at lowest setting and work my way up but not past 4.5v?

Set it on VW and start off at 8.0 watts. Then bump it up or down according to your preferences. Once you find the setting that best satisfies you, leave it there. Even if you put on a different atty/clearo/carto/whatever, the VTR will detect the resistance of it and adjust the voltage to give you the same heat you were getting from the previous atty/clearo/carto/etc.

There's charts around that will tell you "red zones" - i.e what wattage/voltage to avoid on certain resistance coils which may be worth a look at (can't find them or I'd link) but generally I start at about 6.5 watts and go up or down until it's right for me.

Not much help, but that's the beauty of variable - you can dial in what you like

I,m new to all of this but that's how I understand it also. Many say start at 2 over so in your case that would be 4.1 but I rarely have mine set over 4 even with my 2.5 ohm coils. Different strokes I guess.

Typically, voltage should be set at about 2 higher than the atomizer resistance. That is only a general rule of thumb though, find what you like the best.

I,mm new to the VV/VW world myself and ive settled on using Verabile wattage. I like to start out at 8.0 watts and work up and down from there. I use Pro Tank 2,s that have been upgraded with the air flow control bases with 1.8 ohm coils. Around 8 and 9 ohms seems to be the sweet spot for me. Thats with 100% VG juice well at close to 100% as it comes.

I have the SVD and two iClear30's at 2.0 ohms. My ideal range is 6-7. Like said above, it varies for user an what juice your using. I remember someone using these clearos at around 11watts. Which honestly IMO are wayy too much. Try it at 5watts and go up until you taste it being a little burnt. Then back off and you will know your ideal range.

That makes a lot of sense to back off after burnt taste .

Most people do say to take your atty resistance and add 2. So since my atties are 2.2 ohms, I should start around 4.2 volts.

Or just set it at 7.5 to 8.5 watts and start there if you're using VW.

Everybody varies and you'll have to find your own sweet spot. In my case, although I vape with a 2.2 atty, I personally prefer 3.6 volts (about 6.5 watts) which is thin and cold for most vapers but suits me very well!

Put the VTR in VW mode when you get it. You only have to do that once. Start vaping at 5 watts and adjust the power up until you like the vape. After that if you change to a different juice delivery device with different oHms the VTR will automatically adjust the warmth of the vape to be what you were getting previously.

Dessert, fruit and tea flavors usually produce the best flavor at around 6 watts while tobaccos and coffees do best at 8 to 10 watts. However, that is just ballpark. Pick what power level you like.

If you use VV mode the VTR will not do any oHms math.

VTR came today. Spinny wheel and ohm reader seems to be a little tempermental. Usually shows 2.2ohms but has gone as high as 4 and as little as 'non' :l Coil says it is a 2... Will the affect the VW mode? Should i message the vender?

Taste is great. Have to keep it on low power and short tokes or it chokes me. Wont be throwing out any mad clouds anytime soon..

This thing is solid. Maybe a little to heavy to be left in pockets but my evod will be the 'out and about' devise anyway.

EDIT: Forgot to add. this thing seems to be sucking up juice like crazy. 1ml gone before i even hit the thing At what point do i refill to avoid dry hits?

I personally haven't had any issues with the wheel, I'm sure someone else will advise on that soon.

I too leave mine home and carry my MVP. It's lighter and the battery life is much longer.

What tank did it come with, Iclear 30s? If so it is a dual coil with long wicks. The wicks soak up a lot of juice and in genereal is uses more juice while vaping. I usually refill at about a third of a tank and have had no issues.

Yeah it came with the 30s. I only have the evod tanks and will be trying to avoid buying anymore until passing the profit line between vape-smoking

Took the tank out and screwed it back in... at first it tried telling me it was 3.5ohms every click after has settled at 2.1, weird because before it was saying 2.2?

Do you have to tilt yours to avoid dry hits? Had a couple now... Yucky.


Other then that really enjoying it, expensive little toy but i hope i am just breaking it in rather then problems becoming more apparent the older it gets

Also noticed the screen is a little scratched. Can make a nail mark on it super easy. is there a protective cover on it that is not loose enough to pull off yet? I hope so anyway :/

No, no tilting. It does take a while for the tank to prime itself. I've some fill it and leave it overnight before using it. I've been good leaving it 15-20 minutes after the first fill.

Evod tanks will work on it with the adapter that came with it.

The shifting readings are not supposed to happen. It's due to a design flaw/defect on the spinning wheel. That's why the later units have the non spinning wheel. Contact your vendor to either have your unit replaced or fixed under warranty.

Took the tank out and back in a few times, still shows 2.1 when and no variations when screwed in tight. Do you know if the defect gets worse over time? Has anyone had any luck with contacting venders for replacements? (i used myepack)
