Hello there! First time poster, I've been a smoker for almost 30 years, on average 15 Camel Wides a day.

One fine day in early December 2012, while passing by a tobacco store, on a whim I decided to buy one of those ecigs I'd read about, it was worth a shot, right? So I bought the GreenSmart mini, and even though it didn't quite do it 100% for me, it did quench the cravings enough to cut down to 5-6 Camels a day. The potential implications firmly in mind, I Googled "ecig" and ended up here.

In 2 days it will be a month ago that I visited a bona fide vaping store, and the instant I had my first hit of 24Mg Full Flavor e-liquid on an eGo-S, my mind just whispered "game over" and I knew I had lit up for the last time.
There's still a carton of Camels in my fridge, which I intend to take to a smoker friend who runs a bar, see if he wants to exchange the Camels for a few mugs of keg beer. I already showed him the eGo, gave him a taste and he's intrigued, but not ready to switch.

There's a profound satisfaction to watching the walking chimneys of "Mad Men" late at night on TV, while slouching on the couch and vaping my brains out, slow and deep drags, indoors for the first time since my son was born 3 years ago, totally guilt-free. It's insane.

In fact, I'm already contemplating buying a mod, maybe the eVic, since my slow deep drags tend to make the eGo's blue light blink.

Anyway, the crucial part of my story is how this forum steered me in the right direction, and for that I am very grateful.

Congrats! :toast: One month deserves a shiny new toy as a treat. Go ahead and get that eVic. :D

Just as I suspected, the people in this forum are EVIL!
Joking aside, evil would be to light up again, so getting a nice mod would be positive feedback, fine-tuning my new trajectory.
The treat would be to take my wife to that little restaurant where the elderly Japanese owner makes the freshest sushi AND the most incredible udon soup I've ever had in my life, the man cracks an egg into the perfect, boiling broth.

Congrats!! I just hit my 3 month-a-versary and haven't looked back. Keep at it.

Truly I wonder how it's gonna be at the 3 month mark, health-wise, because March is when my allergies usually kick in. Add acid reflux to my smoking, and every flu season, I catch EVERY flu. Because the acid goes up to the throat and burns it when I'm sleeping, you see, a wide open front door for viruses.
But then, my wife and son have already had a nasty bout of flu, and it passed me by, first time in years! Soon after I stopped smoking and started vaping! Coincidence? Here's hoping my allergies take it down a notch or three, from this year on.

Anytime a former smoker mentions a CARTON of cigarettes my brain bunches and registers the unbreathability choking fog state. Painted a nice picture and 3 year old, happy contentment. There might be a period of the honeymoon is over. It might have to do with the compulsion to buy everything vaping associated! Not a bad idea with new things coming out and DIY options so you always have plenty.

Cheers Mate,
I too find it oh so satisfying to be sitting on the couch and "puffing" away watching TV or being on the computer.......I've never done that before. Been a smoker for over 15 years, always out side and away from the kids!! Now I can vape on the couch around the family and not feel guilty!!!:vapor: Been vaping now for 4 months and off the analogs for 4 months!!! Yeah.
Celebrate the small victories and reward yourself!!!!! I agree with tide girl, you deserve to treat yourself......go get that eVic!!!
BUT BE WARNED..............it is a VERY slippery slope once you start "upgrading" your tools!!!!
Vaping has now become an obsession for me and I cant stop buying all the shiny new toys!! AAAAHHH!!
First Provari on the way!!!! cant wait:)
Anyway, Congrats again and as always...keep on vaping!

Congrats! A month off cigarettes deserves a treat. Check out some reviews of the different Mods to help make an informed decision.

Sound advice, opinions so far on the eVic seem very divided, and with some deeper thought on the matter, I always wait a while before buying any sort of new tech, even OS upgrades, until the bugs have been ironed out. Being a consumer guinea pig is not my thing, give me reliability any time instead.
With that in mind, and combing the forums a bit, I'm now gravitating towards the Provari or the Sigelei Zmax.
Does that sound reasonable?

I'm just past my 2 month milestone and I'm loving it as well! I don't have kids, but never enjoyed smoking analogs inside. It's cold outside this time of year, so I'm loving the fact that I don't have to bundle up to go outside. I have been trying to hold off on upgrading from my Twists, and since all of you guys are so adamant about upgrading as a treat... I might actually go do it! I am lucky that I have a great B&M about 5 minutes away. Now to convince the wife that I "need" a Vamo or eVic...

That. Just that. Insane, isn't it? Also it's not just at home. Last Friday, some friends and I met up at a micro beer place, while it was cold and drizzling outside, there was a fireplace going inside. So I vaped away in my seat, without having to bundle up and budge.
