Don't have much to add to what's already been said but I have 3 different e-cig setups now, a container full of spare parts, tanks, atomizers, clearomizers, and tons of juices. It happens to most of us in here! My ProVari is what I use when I'm sitting here at my desk working all day, I have a couple of eGo 650 batteries and Stardusts if I'm going to be out for awhile, and also just bought an eRoll kit for the same reason. Anyway, welcome and enjoy your new hobby! :2cool:

ShuffleField, if you are getting less flavor after a couple of hits, it's the wick drying out. When you set it down the wicks get re-saturated. You can hasten that by holding the Vivi Nova horizontal and rotating it to wet the wicks alternately. Usually when the flavor begins to drop off, it's because the tank is getting low. The more juice covering the wicks the better the flavor.

Thick juices compound the problem. I sometimes see this happen with 80pg/20vg juice and that's pretty thin viscosity.

I've also started removing the little fiber tube around the wick. I got a couple of 3 packs of heads that vaped weakly. I found out through experimentation that the tube is choking off the wicks and preventing saturation. I just grab the fiber tube with tweezers and gently work it up. It tears and comes out in halves. Once I do that, the flavor is back for good.

Rotating seems to help, but it doesn't work fast enough. =)

I think I know what you mean about the fiber head, but mine is more of a rubber sleeve that fits over the head and holds the wick in place. It has a little metal bit at one end that can be removed. I just topped off and moved the sleeve up a bit (I got some juice on the coils, tis gurgly for now). Problem is, when I screw the top back on it actually pushes the sleeve back down. For now I have the top about one twist shy of all the way down. It's snug, but I am worried it will leak. I will keep an eye on it and see if it helps.

Things I think I learned today -

Halo colored cartos do not have the same (awesomely velvety) texture as the batteries. It is just a sticker, however an emerald green carto on the deep purple battery with a purple aluminum drip tip looks awesome.

I prefer using a drip tip on the halo cartos rather than the rubber end cap. I didn't know they would fit until I saw they now offer drip tips on their site for the G6. I popped mine off the Vivi and it fit. I think it gives more airflow or something. I thought it would look stupid, but I like it.

Got my sampler of Halo liquid. Torque 56 - only a few hits, but WOW.

Tribeca is a lot like Prime 15. Peanut buttery. I think Tribeca is "lighter", but I might not be able to tell the difference side by side.

I love black licorice. I don't love it as a juice. yet.

Still afraid to try menthol. but I got 2 samples of Halo sub zero. Oddly one in 12mg and one in 24. When they pack em with your order it must be random. I have a good amount of blanks now... I don't want to stick it in a vivi, but I might finally blow a blank on it. Hey, I just figured out what to do with that spent prime 15 pre-filled I have!

I need a box and some small ziplocks to put this all in. I plan to put the carto with it's matching bottle in a little ziplock to try to avoid mixing up too many flavors.

Tommorrow I will take Torque 56 in a purple carto and Tribeca in a green. I will not lug the 5 pack and 2 blanks that I have been filling with random stuff with me. Instead I will have 2 clean cartos and can top off when they dry up. This should be better than mixing up what is what and sucking on a dry cart of half an hour...

I think that is it for now...

Hermm that just means you need to swap them off more :0). I'm a total chain vaper for about 12 hours a day. I finally went to a carto tank (Phiniac for those wondering). Now I dun have the problem. I DO enjoy the Vivi's for light flavors ie watermelon.

I was laughing at the bowl of wicks and carto's and etc. I have FOUR bowls of stuffs, from atty's to 306 atty's to carto's in ALL sizes....I even have 6 mods laying around I no longer use, maybe MORE LOL from Hogs to SB's.

I collected stuff until I found my sweet spot. Someday I might actually sell the others.

Anyone want to buy a Hog?

...and the last thing I need is another hobby to spend money on.

Too late!

MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA!!!!!!

;)

But at least I am smoking analogs a hell of a lot less and missing them much less than I expected.

Yep. Nobody believed I could quit smoking. Especially not me. And while I still break down and have a "real one" now and then, it's maybe once a day at most when I used to do a pack and a half or more a day. And the time between "real ones" is growing. A trend I like. And I'm still shocked how little I think about smoking now. It's... almost eerie.

Anyway, you could use my excuse. That the long term health benefits of getting away from tobacco will save you tons. And, well, it could.

Welcome aboard!

Got a double sided plano case at wal mart to store juice bottles with the matching carto. Vaped Torque all day. Damn it's good. Will be getting a 30ml or two ASAP.

Tried the Belgian Cocoa... wow. Belgian Cocoa and Torque for the kit tomorrow. Tribeca, meh, like it, don't love it, So Belgian it is.

2 7ml bottles and 2 carto's in my halo case made for a good manageable kit today. I really am glad I got a 3rd battery though. Drained them all today.

Look a little closer. Once you remove that little silicone tip with the metal insert, down in the head is a coil wrapped around the silica wick. Around the coil itself is a fiber tube that slides over the wick on each side. This is down inside around the wick once you remove the silicone part and look further into the metal tube where the wicks are in slots on each side. That's the fiber part I'm talking about removing. Take it out only if the head refuses to produce good flavor.

If you disassemble an old head by taking out the silicone grommet at the bottom, that releases the wires holding the coil in. Then, you can lift the wick and coil out and see the fiber tube I'm talking about, but don't remove the lower grommet and wick unless you are planning the replace the coil with a new one. The wires have to be long to feed through and pull tight.

The little fiber tube starts out white and turns brown after a little use. It's split on the lower half so that they can slide it over the wick after the coil is wound. I think it's just there to insulate the wires from touching the metal tube. It also chokes the wick in some heads and on some heads it reduces juice flow to the part where the coil is. I don't remove it unless I get a head that vapes weakly from juice starvation.

QC during assembly is lacking in head production, IMO. Some tweaking is required on some new ones.

know what you mean about buyers remorse. my first ecig only 2 months ago was an ego 650mah battery and nonrebuildable CE style clearomiser. I got two sets and a bottle of juice in a starter pack from a local store for £45 ($68). Then i went back a few weeks later, whilst i was waiting for my vamo to arrive from china, and bought an ego twist and rebuildable CE. the twist wasn't badly priced at £20 but the CE clearo was 2x the price it should have been and utter garbage till i swapped out the wick for a cotton one yesterday, now it performs like a bawss.. and its drip tip still annoys me. I now have said Vamo, and an AGA-T2.

so all in all i wish i had never bought anything from that shop, except maybe the ego twist. I haven't been able to get along with it, but i'm figuring that's probably the clearomisers fault.. feel a little bit ripped off but those devices did keep me off cigarettes for a few weeks so i can't really be angry about it, and i'll find some way of using them, probably as portables with a dripping atomiser.. i can't use them with this CE clearo now as the coil i wrapped is 3.5 ohms, the basic ego batteries won't produce vapour and even with the twist at 4.8v i don't get a good vape.. i'm not changing the coil till the wick needs changing though, too lazy :D

I did take them apart but don't recall seeing anything ON the coil itself, but the way mine are doesn't seem to match. I will try to explain...

My coils are not wrapped around the wick itself, instead it is wrapped around what appears to be a much shorter length of wick. the main wick sits on top of it. Does that make any sense? is that normal? When I was looking at videos of people making wicks ALL of them wrapped the coil around the main wick, non of this 2nd pseudo wick stuff.

So saturday I started with the some Tribeca in one of the Vivi's and it was fine, about half way through the day though it just lost all flavor again. All I was getting was good vapor and the same old generic, almost artificial/aspartame/saccharine, sweet taste. I did a side by side with a fresh fill of a carto of the same juice on an 808 battery and I could taste a little better on the carto, but not much.

Conclusion... I think I am just burning out my tastebuds. Hopefully I will adjust.

I did run to the shop and grabbed an Smok XXL carto and a Kanger T3 to try (total cost to try new things, 8 bucks, nice). I used the Kanger yesterday and flavor never really died on me until late in the evening. and I vaped pretty heavy yesterday (in addition to 2 analogs, oh well...).

The Vivi's are all clean and dry now, as well as ungunked, so I will give the Kanger a few days and then switch back for a bit to see how it goes.

An update - The T3's are working out and I think I got a routine down. I even got some fruity flavors so I have some drastic flavor changes to cycle through. I will usually puff on one thing for about an hour and move to the next. Flavors are sticking with me better now. Still haven't decided if I like the T3 or Vivi better, but I got a second T3 to rotate a flavor through.

Lots n' lots of water. I take more bathroom breaks than I ever took smoke breaks now. I really hope that evens out. =)
