(FIRST POST) Hello + Need a new mod

Hello ECF! I have been lurking for a while now and finally made an account.

I am looking to purchase a new VV/VW device to replace an old Lava Tube clone I've had about 2 years now. The glue is starting to separate around the top and also around the battery cap on the bottom.

I want a device that uses all of the 18650s I already have so right now I have looked at the Vamo (V2 and V5) and the SVD.

So..... Whats the difference between the Vamo V2 and V5? Are they better than the SVD? Any other suggestions for VV/VW tube mods that use 18650s?

Can't speak to the vamo, but I have a SVD and and very happy.. Have few usb based battery types, but they have sit since I got the SVD. I actually use it over my nemesis as it's just so easy with the iclear 30s tank (top fill).

Looks like we have the same set up. You simply can't beat this mod with the 30s. It works flawlessly for me.

Hi, kragmarth. What sort of budget are you working with?

So..... Whats the difference between the Vamo V2 and V5? Are they better than the SVD? Any other suggestions for VV/VW tube mods that use 18650s?

I've owned the V3 and the SVD. Price-wise, they're only a few dollars apart (from Fasttech, as porkchop_express mentioned).

Performance-wise, they're both almost the same. For build quality, I'd give a slight edge to the SVD.

BUT.

Don't let this scare you off, but MY vamo only made it about two months before the threads in the 510 connection were shot. That's somewhat common, and there are fixes, but I wouldn't buy another one. Some folks have had theirs for much longer without having a single issue with theirs.

I fixed my Vamo myself by installing a new top cap, and it's still working just fine now.

The Vamo is made by a few different vendors, some people get the "good' ones, some don't.

I really did like my SVD a LOT, and it was pretty close to the top of my favorite Chinese mod list, until it failed electrically. Mine's on my way back to China for a replacement from Fasttech (six month replacement warranty) but it's probably going to be a backup sitting in my vape cabinet for some time now.

Other than that, I think mine was better made than the Vamo, but that's only an opinion.

I know you said you wanted to use your 18650's, but for value from a stateside vendor, take a look at the MVP2. It doesn't have the same wattage range as the Vamo or the SVD (its range is 6-11 versus 3-15) or voltage range (3.3 to 5 versus 3 to 6) and it has an internal battery - so once it dies, you toss it and buy another one. You can find them online for around $40.

Vamo V3 or V5. the V5 has a sleek straight body the V3 has a cut design on it. both have the same control chip.
if you are considering the vamo go stainless steel.

The Vamos are a good mod and easy to use. can use a 18350 or 18650 battery.

Indeed you can buy the Vamos on fasttech for 32 bux but the company KSD that makes them says they are clones.
shop around online you should find some for about 45bux and not have to wait 3 to 3 1/2 weeks to get one from China

My wife has the MVP2 and she is enjoying it a lot. Like I said I really like the tube mods a little more. Budget is between $50 and $100 (ProVari is out =\). Right now I have a TORPEDO VVV (Lavatube Clone) from Totally Wicked and also a Nemesis Clone that I run a Kayfun and some sub ohm rebuilds on. My TORPEDO is dying and I want something like that for taking to work and out and abou while using my Nemesis at home.

Whats the difference between the V2 chip and V3 chip in the Vamos?

How is the firing button on the SVD? Is it kinda loose like the Vamo or is it more sturdy?

I like the 134, it looks like a lightsaber lol. Anyone have a 134 and what are your thoughts on it?

I have the 134 it looks good it's a little heavy but it miss fires a lot more then I like. I also have a MVP love it my hubby has the vamo v3 no issues so far but it doesn't get much use he likes the vtr better then the vamo but we both use provari 90% of the time. I would go vtr so u can use your 18650 batteries.
