First Post - just an introduction

Hi all! My name is Doug. I'm new to vaping and so far am loving it!

My daughter and I received some gift cards for Christmas that were just burning in our pockets, so we went to the mall to blow our free money. She went into Hot Topic but I'm way too old to step foot in there, so I decided to venture out on my own and came across a kiosk selling e-cigs. On impulse, I got myself a Vision Spinner 1300 with a C4 clearomizer. Boy do I wish I had done a little more research! I paid way too much! Even so, I love the thing!

I didn't immediately quit the analogs as I wanted to finish up the carton I had on hand first. I found myself smoking less and less and vaping more and more. Ran out of the analogs and haven't purchased any more. Last analog was January 2nd (but I did bum one from a co-worker on the 4th after a stressful day). I am so glad to be off of analogs! No more smelly fingers, clothes, hair, beard, car, and house! Plus I don't have to roll the window down to vape while driving (it's COLD!)

Before I ran out of the juice that came with my initial purchase, I picked up some extra clearomizers and e-juice online from AltSmoke (will never shop kiosk again!). Got the High Caliber cappuccino and "our 4" flavors from them. They are a 50/50 PG/VG blend in the 24mg strength. The cappuccino is "meh" but tolerable but I love the "our 4". It's got a nice sweet maple flavor. I got to give the guys at AltSmoke mad props! Absolutely fast and convenient service! Will definitely be a repeat customer!

So far I have found so much helpful information on this forum! I've been lurking for a few days and figured I'd join so I can participate in the discussions.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on your vaping success. Even though you might have overpaid you are very fortunate that you at least got decent gear from a kiosk retailer. Most of the vaping gear that comes out of a kiosk belongs in the trash.

Do order at least one backup battery for your Spinner and also get a backup charger. Alt.smoke should have both.

I think the best place to go for someone just starting to get juice is Vapor Beast samples. They only have 11 flavors but they are all of comparable quality to that sold by best juice makers and all taste as described—no losers in the bunch.

From there try some juices from juice makers that offer samples. There are some listed in this thread, Sample Packs - A listing for those seeking a favorite juice

You also might want to try some 10 ml. sizes from this list of ECF top rated juice sellers.

I'm over 40 and still love going to Hot topic! I bought some "black chrome" Converse in there a while back, and the sticker selection is nothing short of fun! I've got a couple on my toolbox, "Your lips are moving, but all I hear it Blah Blah Blah!" I like going in there messing with the clerks, I know more about the music they are playing then they do! But I'm odd like that!

Hi Doug - congrats on your new setup. Live and learn on the price thing. Now that you know better, you can get bigger and better and not feel so bad. I have to agree on the backup though. You never know when something is not going to work and the last thing you want to (I presume) is go back to cigarettes. If you do happen to fall back on a cigarette or two, don't fret it. Just keep trucking on. Eventually you will get to a point where they taste and smell horrible. All the delicious flavors out there will keep you satiated. Good luck and have fun!
