I've been lurking for a few weeks. I feel like I'm ahead of the game because of this forum so a big thanks to the forum and all who participate. I started by purchasing an ego starter kit and some juice from BWB. The prefilled cartriges that came with the kit were not very good but were tolerable. The next day the juice from BWB came in and I started to get excited about quitting analogs. I had about 5 analogs left and smoked one a day until they were gone. I ordered some Menthol and Peppermint juice for my wife (since she smokes menthol cigs) hoping we would quit together. Its just not doing it for her, I'll get back to that in a moment. So I had 555, applewood, and strawberry. At first applewood was my favorite. After a couple of days of just vaping that, I had to change it up a bit. For a while I mixed the 555 with either the applewood or the strawberry and that does the trick for me. I placed some orders with other juice suppliers eager to try other flavors. I was really disappointed when I recieved the orders and didn't like any of the flavors from 3 other suppliers. I was perplexed. I figured out that all these juices were PG based and figured that was it. I just didn't like PG. A few days later an order of Johnson creek juice came in and at first I didn't like it either so I went back to my BWB juices. But now those juices didn't taste right either. Well to make a long story short after I blew my atty out everything started tasting better. I had been using cartomizers. But when testing new juices I would drip with my atty. Wouldn't have thought to do that if I hadn't of read it here. So back to my wife and her menthols. I figured out that the nic level is just not high enough in the juice I got for her. She also wants stronger flavor. I purchased some juice from freedomsmokeUSA and it should show up tomorrow. I hope it does the trick for her.

Welcome and yes you are ahead of most by finding ECF first. Good call on hardware and juice supplier. Happy vaping and let us know how the increased nic level does for your wife. I don't know why but in my experiance (i have converted 7 people to vaping) the two who where menthol smokers have taken the longest time to drop the real cigs. In fact one just can't seem to let go and after three months still smokes about 5 a day. Best of luck to you and your wife.

Welcome txwalt!!

Sounds like you started out the right way...finding the ECF before jumping in on the equipment and juice.

Looks like you made some good choices, too. (Many of us passed through the mall kiosk or gas station-variety of ecigs before we found this forum.)

Each person is different and progresses at their own pace. I'm still not entirely off analogs yet, myself, but it's getting better as I try new things, different nic levels, PG vs VG. Like me, you'll eventually find your groove, and so will your wife, if both of you just stick with it.

Again, welcome and happy vaping.

Not sure what you ordered for her, but get your wife some of FSUSA's Thin Mint with a stronger nic level for her. It is deeelicious and a good replacement for menthol.

Thanks so much for this tip....I'm having a difficult time trying to find the right 'menthol' myself, and I've heard a lot of awesome things about Thin Mint! Order just placed, along with some empty carto's!!! I've got 'menthol' flavors coming from three different places...next week will be fun fun fun!!!!! :)

Welcome! Are you also cleaning your atty periodically? I do it on the weekend - switch to a clean dry atty (priming it first with juice), swish the used one in alcohol and leave it overnight in it, then shake out the next day and set on paper towels to dry. The next weekend I switch to the one I cleaned. There are other ways to clean them (like boiling water) and some people need to do it more often.

I like BWB's Casablanca. I've been vaping it for weeks. I find it pleasurable and satisfying. And their Peach is amazing though not much TH and it just doesn't trigger my "ok you're done now" switch. So in one cart I mix some peach into a plainish tobacco flavor (like that PG stuff) to make a peach tobacco and that's nice.
