Been two days now without an analog. First week with my eGo, I was down to 3 or less. Now I'm finding that the juices don't have much flavor. I've been reading here that this happens and will pass. Hydration is key. I don't know how much more water I can drink. Regardless, I'm done with big tobacco...

I'm now trying to get my wife to kick the habit. She is a menthol smoker 1-2 PAD. She was curious about my e-cig, but every flavor she tried of mine, she had a coughing fit. Of course it didn't help that of the dozen or so juices I had, none were menthol. I asked her if there was any other flavor other in addition to menthol she might like. Maybe a light vanilla, she said, but it's got to be menthol.

I did order some vape Placid from KBV. I like it, she had another coughing fit and said too light on the menthol, too much on the harsh. She smokes what I like to call minty air, B&H menthol ultra lights. I'm convinced she will like some other flavors of juice in time, but it's key that I find a good menthol to hook her with. The way she reacted to what I think is the TH of my juices, leads me to believe that a predominantly VG based menthol would suit her. Also a lower nic strength. (mine are mostly 24mg). Open to any and all suggestions. What menthol would you all recommend?

I smoked Benson and Hedges Deluxe Ultra Light 100 Mentols for the last 15 years so I think I might know what flavor she is looking for. The closest match I have found is Blue Mist Vapings Hypermint. Stay with single strength flavor, I went double and it is a little....harsh. 12mg nic should be about right.

Hi and welcome. Another thing might be the way she inhales. It is not like smoking but a softer draw. Collect it in the mouth before you inhale. There is a learning curve to it and I bet most of us were coughing and hacking our first few drags. Good luck and remind her how it felt like when she first started smoking.

Congrats on 2 days. I was told by the Vets the first 10- 14 days there might be issues and they were right. Kudos for trying to get your wife to quit. If she finds a flavor that she enjoys you might consider buying either menthol drops or menthol crystals- these are concentrated flavors that can be added to the juice or it could be added straight to unflavored juice. I have a friend and that's her fave juice so it's not as strange as it sounds. The crystals are diluted into PG while the drops are added straight to the juice. Be careful with the amount though. As you mentioned her coughing may be from the Nicotine and/ or the PG. VG is very thick and can clog cartos and attys so if you do use a higher VG mix and find it's too thick you could thin it with either PGA, vodka or distilled water- just a little bit though. Good Luck and please keep us posted, Vapoor.

I can't shed much light of your wife's problems (Madvapes Chinese menthol is pretty smooth Menthol, 50ml, 11mg), but for your wonky taste buds I suggest some "oh god, oh god, it burns, WHY THE HELL DID I LISTEN TO THAT @$$HOLE!?!?!?" juice until the tobacco funk wears off.

Try OVC Battery Acid, it's a mix of red hots and menthol. Battery Acid eliquid At 6v in a dual coil carto it's rocking my world, but it's still fairly potent on an Ego with a LR atty.

Congratulations on quitting I'm on week 5 right now with the wife. The hardest thing for both of us was finding the right flavor to replace tobacco. For me it was Honey Flu Cured Tobacco flavor tried them all but but loved LiquidXpress. The only one that I tried that tasted like real menthol for me was Pink Spot Menthol. You might try that for your wife. Best of luck and hope to see your results next month.

...congratz on making the switch...on the menthols...I don't so menthols but, my wife and stepdaughter do...both the "Smooth" from BlueMist Vaping Supplieshttp://www.bluemist.com and the "Hypermint", added to the "Vanilla Tobacco" I vape were both big hits with them...I would suggest getting a sample size of each and try them alone and in combination and I bet you will find a winner...I would suggest getting the Vanilla with the flavor shot and the other two in normal.............

Yes Congrats and happy for you, I've been off cigs now for 110 days and about 3 wks ago I lost my taste on e juice ,I only could taste food but not my juice strange but only lasted 4 days.

Also does this happen to anybody else when I eat garlic or raw onions I might as well not vape anymore for the rest of the day, after eating raw onions taste is gone for my juice so now I wait till late in the day to eat those onions and no more vaping for the rest of the day (Love those raw onions)

Yes after eating onions, garlic or anything strong I rinse with lemon or mouth wash and that seems to help. I also drink extra water to stimulate/ hydrate the saliva glands to help "rinse" the area.
Taste Buds
"If you were paying attention in high school biology, you may remember a map of the tongue that grouped the buds detecting sweetness on the tip of the tongue. Those were flanked by the salt-detecting buds, with the sour ones running farther along the sides. The bitter buds, last defense against gag-inducing toxins, lurked across the back of the tongue."
