Ok I'm new tot this forum and looking for some guidance after completing my first pro tank rebuild using rip trippers you tube video "nano micro coil build on a pro tank 2". After wrapping 3 coils the third one finally works on my vamo and has 1.9 ohm resistance. The only problem is I havE to really tighten the tank down on the vamo and it won't fire at all my mvp 2.0. I followed rips video to the tee. The only difference is I used a 5/64 drill bit to wrap the kanthal because I didn't have a 20 guage needle. Hope someone can advise! Thanks!

20 guage needle is close to a 1/16 drill bit I think. Try the smaller drill bit. I use 7/8 wraps I think and comes out to 1.8 every time.

Check your coil is tight on the base and then try it again. I know if the coil is not tighten right you will get leaks and sometimes poor connections. Check also you didn't spill on the mod and juice from the tank that will not make a good connection either.

When you inserted the post through the bottom of the head, did you push it too far and squish the rubber insulator? A pic would be good too...

Thanks chas that was it. I pulled the pin out so the insulator wasn't as squished and it's working like a champ on both mods now! Can't believe the difference the micro coil with organic cotton makes in the pro tank compared to the stock coils and wicks! Sweet!

Glad it worked for ya'. One thing I discovered about micro/cotton in a protank is the ability to change the draw by changing the wick setup. Mine aren't near as airy as the stock coils and of course the taste is much better too.

Ya I noticed that too. I made my cotton wick a little longer and laid a small piece of cotton over the coil. The draw is much better and the flavor is totally different. Tried playing around with a trident clone I picked up too that came pre wicked but it's not really working. Think I'll have to twist up a micro coil and cotton for it too. Up until now haven't really dripped besides a standard disposable 510 atomizer. Anyway it's great to get tips from more experienced folks on here!
