First Purchase Recommendations

Hi everyone,

I've been thinking about getting a GGTS with a UFS. What would you all recommend purchasing on the initial purchase? Unfortunately I do not own an EGo. However I do own a Volt and would like to have achieve the following: better battery life and not have to refill the juice so much. I'm pretty new and I understand that this is a more of a mod for experienced vapers. However, the way I see it, the price is high but has the most options and flexibility. The only thing detracting from the GG is the supply and challenges of getting the new add ons into Canada.

If it would be my first GG, for sure I would buy a ss GGTS and an Odysseus, maybe a stainless steel Stealth Cap too, I have never owned a UFS, but I do own an iAtyy, I am more on the rebuildable atomizers side.

The Odysseus is the ultimate device, will give you the best of all worlds: you can use it with it rebuildable atty feature or you can use commercial atomizers in it if you do not feel like making you own coils, it is a tank with different capacities, has juice control, etc. (You can check the odysseus section on the GG wiki: Odysseus - E-Cigarette Wiki for more info.

The ss GGTS will have a variable voltage module in the future. And the Stealth cap will convert your ss GGTS on a very small and portable device: GG Stealth - E-Cigarette Wiki

The Odysseus will be available very soon.

If you do not want to initially spend much money, get a Stealth (you can upgrade it later to a full ss GGTS) and wait for the Odysseus to be released, no matter what the price will be, you can be sure it will worth every penny.

SS GGTS are in stock at the canadian seller site. For the UFS im not sure if he has any leftover, but you can just go for Odysseus when it will come out, and use regular naked atties until then.

Since your a new user and vaper I suggest starting out w/a GGTS because of the adjustable draw, versatility, diff. battery configurations, ability to blow out the atty without removing, etc. I would not recommend a Stealth for first buy. I would never recommend getting a UFS until you are experienced w/all diff attys and properly using them along w/the GGTS.

If you don't have a multimeter that is the first thing I would buy.

Plus one to what dspin said. All of the GG series is listed as advanced user devices! Are they still for everyone then? Sure! But realize that it means that there is a learning curve to them.

The GG provides superior vaping satisfaction but requires that the user is willing to learn to use them. But have no fear as I am one of the least mechanically inclined people on the forum and use them with great success.

I do have the time and willingness to learn each piece though. Some do not have the luxury of time to do so or vaping is a means to an end (switching from tobacco to vaping). I think without meaning to that we sometimes recommend items with a strong learning curve to new folks without warning of the learning curve sufficiently.

That's yet another reason why Imeo was gracious to allow Zoranth and myself to create sticky threads so we can post as much information in picture and video format to help those who are in the learning stages.

I gotta say the guys here are right about the learning curve with these mods.I jumped right in with a SS GGTS and UFSv2 together because they were both in stock and I didn't want to miss them.It took me a good week to get the UFSv2 working perfect like it should and it was very frustrating.A few times I was gonna sell the UFSv2 but I got tips from this forum and mastered it finally.I'm so glad I didn't give up because the combo of the two is perfect.I can only hope I will be able to get my hands on one of the new Iatty's when released.I say jump in,buy everything you can and don't give up and you will be amazed with the vape you get.

Good stuff JK! Kudos to you for sticking with it and learning the system. My only point in the prior post was that I feel we sometimes unintentionally recommend the latest and greatest from Imeo not realizing it does become a task for those newer to vaping or those without the time or determination to learn the GG system.

I'm glad people are giving the UFS the time it is needed to learn it's function, it is a simple device, once you learn the mechanics of it, one thing that does not get mentioned a lot and i think it's important to point out.

The liquid control and air control work in tandem up to a point, if you have your liquid control dialled in perfectly and decide you want a stiffer draw it will affect the amount of liquid entering the atty, it's a suction principle, the harder you suck/stiffer the vape, more liquid will be introduced to the atty.

So to sum up, if you close the air off a fraction then close off the liquid control a fraction as well, it should equalise nicely

There is no reason to wait on a SS GGTS - HOWEVER, I would suggest watching the following link 5-10 times to understand it. Once you do get one you will wonder why you wasted money on other ones. You have to be willing to take it apart and clean it along with the button. The vape is absoutely outstanding if its properly set up. I wasted tons of money on many different mods. I wished I had gotten one of these first. I just meant start with this and then proceed after learning the TS. You can also watch Igetcha's youtube video on the GGTS

I don't agree that starting with a full GGTS is better than a Stealth. The Stealth was designed to be simpler and cheaper than the full GGTS to allow an entry point for newbies. It doesn't get much simpler, screw in a 510 atty or carto, drop in a battery, vape away. The GGTS with it's collection tank is a little more involved, and a lot more expensive.

Yeah I gotta agree for sure Chaos. I think the Stealth comes as close to "plug and play" as it gets in the GG line.

Ah, but the adjustable draw and being able to use any battery you can think of, plus blowing out attys without taking them off, trumps the Stealth hands down IMO. I'd use a 18350 and need to swap it out in in 1 - 1 1/2 hrs.

Not arguing that the GGTS is superior to the Stealth. As far as newbies go, though, the Stealth is just an easier device to use.

Yeah, Stealth is better for some newbies. I got the hang of the GGTS features pretty quick, myself, but I've seen some people who couldn't get a 2-piece ciggie-style PV to work so for some people the simpler the better ;-)
