Hi All,

This is my first post on this forum :)

I have been following this forum for a while now and finally took some time to sign up.

I recently got a brand new stick V8 (3000mah) with the big baby beast tank.

I see a lot of people praising the battery life of this device, which is kind of making me wonder if mine might be faulty out of the box.

I am a big chain vaper and while playing video games or working on my PC, i tend to take long hits every half a minute or so non stop.

I am getting about an hour and a half before the battery is completely drained. Is this normal or should i get the device looked at or replaced?

I am using the rba coil with performance aliens (0.15) currently, but figured since the ohm is the same as the pre-installed M2 it should not affect battery life right?

Your help here would be hugely appreciated. ps... I'm extremely sorry for the long post :)

A single battery mod or similar (at 3000mah) is a very limited device and using it at high wattage will kill it very fast.

So short answer, yes, it's normal.

Thank you for the quick response :) i guess since i can't control the wattage on this device, it outputs at max wattage with every hit which is probably why it dies so quick.

Do you perhaps know if coil mass makes a difference in battery drain even if it has the same resistance as the stock coils?

Mass, resistance of the metal, type of metal, gauge, etc. it all makes a difference.

You can have two builds that are the exact same resistance (ohms), but one using a large gauge, the other a dual coil build, and the difference can be very large, where one would go at 30W to give you a certain experience, and the other build needing 70W to give you the same experience.

There's virtually millions of combinations when it comes to building. Same with you're making your own liquids (DIY).

I chain vape, too.

When I used to use equipment with built-in batteries I carried two and still had issues which frustrated me.

Now I use a mod with a removable 18650 battery and I carry 4 batteries with me -- takes me seconds to change the battery and I do not have any downtime.

Y :)

I have V8 stick with baby beast tank (that was my first set up when I started to vape but currently is almost never used) and I am very often chain vaper when playing online or surfing internet... but I cannot even imaging how it is even possible to chain vape with 0.15 ohm coil on baby beast tank... even 0.25 M2 coil makes too hot vape to chain vaping and unless you have some very good ventilation in your room how you can see your monitor screen... my room would look like a sauna.... I can chain vaping ( even half a dozen puffs in minute) on my single cell battery for couple hours but I use 0.7-0.9 ohm coils at 10 - 18 watts...

Welcome and glad you joined.
Might try the .25 coils, may give you more battery life.
In General higher ohm coils/lower wattage (generally MTL) vaping will:
Heat the coil slower, which may produce “less” vapor
Provide A “cooler” tasting vape, can produce more flavor
May use less E-Juice (<$ less money)
Prolong battery life (<$)
Prolong coil life (<$)
Prolong wick life (<$)
Less likely spit back
May result in less PV maintenance/Issues
Less irritation to non vapers
Aids stealth vaping
Less exposure to carcinogens at high temps

Sounds to me with your resistance and vaping style (chain vaping) you need a more powerful device, a two battery 18650 box mod, or if you want to get adventurous you could jump into the world of 27--- series devices, although really, if you get two pairs of batteries and a decent charger (buy authentic) you may have an easier time. It's also nice to be able to adjust wattage when/if needed and also you can keep your current setup as a backup/ to rotate when chain vaping as chain vaping can be pretty hard on coils.

Best of luck,

Anna
