As the title says, this is my first attempt at building a coil using a cotton wick. Twisted 34ga kanthal, 2.2ohms and built on a black nimbus clone. Would love to get some feedback since the performance seems a bit underwhelming compared to my genesis builds with similar specs. It takes about 2 seconds after firing to start producing vapor and the flavor and TH are pretty muted. I have some suspicions as to what might be wrong (too much cotton, too large coil I.D., possibly over-saturated with juice, should be using thicker wire) but would love to get some input from people with experience doing cotton builds. For now I'm running it on my Evic @ 8.5W but the intent is for it to go on my Kato Hammer clone with the purple 700mAH Efest battery (rated for 10.5A). Not terribly interested in cloud chasing or sub-ohming but a respectable amount of vapor is always nice and in the future I might think about going down to the .7ohm range. For now while I'm learning I want to stay above 1.5 (1.3 minimum) ohms. Thanks in advance.

I just checked and there are some really good sounding YouTubes on wrapping coils for the Nimbus. YouTube happens to be one of my best friends. I can learn so much easier when I see it. Try there if you are not happy with the vapor production/flavor. I'm sure someone with more experience will come along and help you. That is what is so special about ecf. Good luck. :)

Yeah, YouTube is great for vape related info, I'll try there again but what I was seeing when I looked earlier today was for either silica or sub-ohm builds. The more I think about it, the more I feel that the wick was the area that needs improvement. I'll probably try again tomorrow after checking to see if I get any input on here.
