Our DSE-901b Ultimate kit came in yesterday. Katy at .thesmokelessshop.com is fantastic! She was very quick to answer all my questions, made substitutions for some of the standard cartridges and even threw in some extra empty cartridges I was going to buy. She got it all to me quicker than expected, well except for the extra cartridges which were forgotten at first, but she sent those out immediately despite my telling her not to worry about it! I highly recommend her, especially if you're unsure what you need for starting off.

My Bickford's flavors also arrived, but the vegetable glycerin from a different shop is delayed. We're finding the flavors very weak even without the VG. Even filling an empty cartridge with straight flavor doesn't create as much taste as we'd like. We are used to smoking clove cigarettes, which are very strong and spicy.

Unfortunately, my husband says smoking the e-cig is sometimes making him want a clove cigarette even more right after, and that the vapor doesn't feel enough like smoking. Oh, and these seem to require a very hard draw compared to an analog. :sigh: I really, really want to find a preferable solution to the cloves. They are very expensive and are even worse health-wise than regular analogs.

Some possible solutions we can actually afford:
Ordering a USB passthrough which most say make better vapor.
Having him play around with modding batteries which won't die off quite so quickly.
Looking into Lorann flavors, which are supposed to be stronger (unfortunately only an oil based clove available there :()

Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Also, make sure you're experimenting with different puffing styles. Some work well with certain models, but don't get much result from others.

Also, if heavy vapor is what you're wanting, always make sure your batteries are at their highest charge to start.

I would definitely advocate the passthrough.

Keep working with it and experimenting with your own style.

I hope everything gets cleared up!

What dose nicotine are you guys using? Me being a pretty heavy Marlboro smoker found I needed to go up to the stronger 24 and 36mg stuff to get that kick I needed. Now I need to ween back down again because kick it does...:D. I'm still buying the 36 and cutting it now but when I need a kick I smoke it straight.

We're actually trying to not use nicotine right now. I've quit long enough ago not to want it to mess up my system but started really missing smoking when I was once again able to spend time with my friends in a smoking environment.
My husband decided to quit cold a couple weeks ago because we suddenly had to cut expenses. A couple days before the e-cigs got here he broke down and bought a pack because he said he was missing them too much during the long drive to his temp jobs was driving him crazy so he's been smoking one or two a day for that. However, he went almost 2 full weeks without any and was barely affected by the typical nicotine withdrawal (of which I am very jealous). I suggested he use some of the nicotine liquid, but he says he isn't interested. It seems he will likely be continuing with his couple of analogs a day for the stronger clove flavor so I didn't want to push him to use more nicotine than that.

The VG when you get it will probably increase the amount of vapor considerably. As for cloves, have you tried dumping and steeping a whole bunch of actual cloves into a bottle of your clove flavor to strengthen it? I did put some cloves in a bottle of eliquid, and they did impart some flavor. My next step is to use even more to try to make it stronger.

Sounds like its worth a try. Though I should caution people who aren't aware of it that cloves can create their own medical problems. My brother had to stop smoking them because his dentist told him they were making his gums recede very badly. I've also heard a number of others speak of coughing up blood after they started smoking them.

I'll still try your idea, Yvilla. Thank you. I really love the taste of clove and did smoke them for years without experiencing any of those problem. Chances are I'll use a strong clove e-cig (should I find one) as an occasional treat rather than my main flavor. Luckily there are plenty of flavors to choose from. :D
