I don't have a smart phone and my camera is down, so I can't post a picture of my gorgeous, new REO Grand LP.
The good news is I got it from Rob 3.5 days after ordering - fast service!
The devise is amazing easy to use and very intuitive, therefore the learning curve is almost non-existent. Pretty foolproof and I personally am capable of taking the term "fool" to a whole new level at times.
Had my tank nautilus slapped on there at first because, of course, I was dying to try it out and was still waiting for my ohm checker to arrive. However, once it did, I quickly got the nerve to wrap a coil around a 1/16th drill bit w 28g Kanthal, nailed it first try and I'll only get better from here on. Installed it in the RM2 that I ordered with the REO, wicked it with organic cotton, juiced it up and ... BOOM!
You know, I expected some type of improvement with a dripper type atty? but I was totally unprepared for the incredible increase in flavor produced.
This is why people rave about dripping I said to myself! I thought the juice I purchased locally ('cause I foolishly ran out of the good stuff) was kinda insipid and weak but it tasted totally different and much, much more flavorful once I squonked a few times. Yeah, I eventually roasted a little cotton when learning when and how often to squonk, but switching out the cotton wick is no big deal even for someone half blind like me. I do it everyday now cause I'm still learning but it's only been like five days now since I've been using the RM2. Only advise I can give anyone at this point which I saw here - squonk often.... like every other hit.
Big Thanks to Super X for his video on setting up the RM2 which made things perfectly clear and for Papa L for specks here recently on coil wraps (7-8).
My coil wrap-a-ma-jig gizmo from Michael's got here and I'm anxious to wrap some more coils in different gauges and # of turns, etc. Should make things even easier.
My only issues are getting the juice hole on the deck and the air hole on cover properly aligned and tightened in a 10 to 2 position using the gasket. I took the original out and went to the thicker 1.5 x 10 but I still feel it's not quite tight enough when I get both aligned in the sweet spot. It hasn't leaked - but the air cap has backed off a bit while in pocket. Makes me nervous and I must be missing something here. Maybe if I had ordered the proper RM2 LP instead of the straight up RM2 it might be easier to tighten enough without over tightening and thus wouldn't move around so much?
Oh, I did drill the airhole out from at first 1/16th to eventually 5/64th. I'll play with that for awhile before maybe going to 3/32nd.
Can't thank this community enough for all the help, freely and enthusiastically given btw, in helping me make the right decision and ordering the correct spare parts, etc. for my REO LP. I look forward to many years here with you guys and girls!
